For Morning Section :
Students are to select 3 elective subjects. In addition they have to take Bengali/ Hindi/ Nepali/ Alternative English in the 1st year class, English (compulsory) in the 2nd year class and Environmental studies in the 3rd year class. Hindi, Nepali and Alternative English are offered as non-taught subjects.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) All undergraduate courses are of 3 years duration: Students will be required to appear in the University Examinations on completion of every one year of study- Part I Examination is held at the end of 1st year class, Part-II Examination at the end of 2nd year class and Part-III Examination at the end of 3rd year class.
2) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Computer Science (Hons/Gen) if he/she has passed in mathematics at the qualifying Examination.
3) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Microbiology (Hons) if he/she has passed in Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying Examination.
4) A candidate shall be required to take Chemistry as an elective subject for studying Microbiology (Hons).
5) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Geography if he/she has passed in Geography at the qualifying Examination.
6) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Economics (Hons) if he/she passed in Mathematics or Business Economics including Business Mathematics at the qualifying Examination.
7) No candidate shall be allowed to take up more than one of the following as elective subject except a candidate is converted from Honours to General course: i) English ii) Bengali iii) Sanskrit.
8) Students of the vocational stream who passed in Mathematics and Physics in (10+2) level may apply for admission in 1st year Pure Science class.
9) Subject combination is allowed as per University regulations. However, not all combinations of subjects may be available to students. The restrictions are as under.
