Assannagar Madan Mohan Tarkalankar College is a late entry in the educational scenario of the District of Nadia. It was established in the year 2007 with permission of the W.B.C.H.E‚ and is affiliated to the University of Kalyani. It started its first session with pass course in Humanities. However in the very next session honors course in Bengali and History were started. In 2009 honours courses in English and Sanskrit were introduced and in pass course Education and Philosophy were also introduced. The college has a department of Physical Education as well. Though the college is one of the new entries in the educational map of West Bengal. Its performance in various university examinations is commendable. The college has the objective of Catering education to all sections of the society and particularly to the educationally and socially backward.
