Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st year Degree Engg. & Tech. Courses:

  • Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age. There is no upper age limit.
  • Candidates must pass Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination from recognized counsil or board with:
    • Individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / a Technical Vocational Subject (Engineering Drawing / Computer Science)
    • Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
  • Valid rank of JEE (Main) / WBJEE

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 2nd year Degree Engg. & Tech. Courses:

  • Passed Diploma from an AICTE approved Institutions with atleast 45% marks (40% Marks for reserved category students) in appropriate branch of Engg./Tech.
  • Passed B.Sc. degree from a UGC recognized University with atleast 45% (40% Marks for reserved category students) marks and XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
  • Valid Rank of JELET

  • Original copy of Provisional Admission Letter received from RC + 1 Photo copy.
  • Original Final Seat Allotment Letter received from RC + 1 Photo copy.
  • Attested Photo copy of Admit Card of 10th Std. as age proof - 2 copies.
  • Attested Photo copy of Marksheet of 10th Standard - 2 copies.
  • Attested Photo copy of Admit Card of 12th Standard - 2 copies.

Founded in 2009 by the SKS Educational and Social Trust, Bengal College of Engineering and Technology for Women is the first women’s engineering college in the entire eastern region of the country. Till date it is the only such institute in West Bengal. Situated in the posh part of Durgapur, the Steel City of Bengal and housed elegantly in a building with modern architectonic features, it is the cynosure of all eyes. Starting its journey five years back, the institute has already positioned itself among the premier engineering institutes in the Asansol-Durgapur industrial belt.

The campus comprises the college building, three girls’ hostels, the playground and the cafeteria. The main building houses all the departments with the state-of-the-art labs, the library, the conference hall, the language lab, the lecture theatres, the tutorial rooms etc. Seminars, workshops, conferences, cultural events and co-curricular programs— life never ceases to buzz on BCETW campus.

The college has the vision to emerge as a leader in the realm of engineering education and set new benchmarks in the same. To empower women by imparting them quality technical education as well as catapulting them to a successful professional career is what it aims at. Our nation today needs a lot of female technocrats and scientists to materialize its dream and BCETW is going to playing a significant role in making the dream come true.
