Provisional Admission to 1st Year Post-Graduate classes in Bengali (starting from this Academic session), English, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology (Session 2014-2015) at Bethune College
ONLY GRADUATES WITH HONOURS IN RELEVANT SUBJECT OF 2013 & 2014 MAY APPLY
- Applications for admission to First Year M.A. / M.Sc. courses will be received only online through the websites -
www.bethuneadmissions.ac.in
and to be submitted online from
04.08.2014 (01:00 P.M.) to 14.08.2014 (08:30 P.M.) - Only Female Candidates are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must get a printout of the application form after online submission.
- Bank Challans (3 copies) can be generated online only from 09:00 A.M. to 08:30 P.M. after online submission of application form.
- Application Fee for each subject is Rs. 520/- (inclusive of Bank Charges) to be submitted through Indian Bank (any Branch).
- Application Fee to be paid at the branches of Indian Bank (any Branch) from 05.08.2014 to 16.08.2014 (within Banking hours).
- The college has adopted the policy for reservation of seats ear-marked for CU and Other Universities (as per Govt. rules).
- Merit list for 60 % of the seats allocated to candidates of CU for current year (2014) and previous year (2013) to be announced on 22.08.2014.
- Merit list for 40% of the seats (for Other Universities) to be announced on 01.09.2014.
- First Year Post-Graduate Classes will commence on and from 09.09.2014.
- Incomplete application form is liable to cancellation.
- Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC and Physically Handicapped Candidates are followed as per Govt. rules.

• Application from Physically Challenged Candidates (if any) will be considered as admissible.
• SC / ST / OBC (A &B) candidates from West Bengal are eligible for reserved seats.
Division of Seats
- 60% of total seat in each course be earmarked for Calcutta University (C.U.) students only. This 60% of total seats be termed as “For C.U.-Candidates” seats in each course. All the current year (2014) and preceding year (2013) students passed out as Honours Graduate from C.U. (affiliated Colleges) will be considered in this category.
- Merit list for 60% of seats to be prepared on the basis of percentage of Honours marks at Graduate level.
- Rest 40% of total seats in each course are kept open for both Non- CU and CU Candidates.
- Merit list for 40% of seats to be prepared on percentile basis.
Other Universities Category
- Other Universities Category candidates mean the candidates who passed the required Bachelor Examination as eligibility degree for admission in relevant P.G. courses from the University other than Calcutta University. Honours graduates or its equivalent of the current year (2014) and that of the immediate preceding year (2013) are eligible.
- Honours graduate or, its equivalent of Other Indian Universities of (10+2+3) pattern and Candidates Passing Honours in Science /Arts from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhas Open University and the Distance Education Programme of Other Universities in West Bengal of current year (2014) and immediate preceding year (2013) are eligible for Other Universities Category.

- The candidate should be present personally, failure of which will cancel her candidature.
- Guardians will not be allowed to enter the college premises on the day of admission.
- Selected candidates will have to pay the admission fees on the same day.
- There is no hostel facility in the college.
Documents to be produced at the time of admission
- Admit Card of Secondary Examination as Age-Proof : Original & one attested photocopy.
- Mark sheet of B.Sc. Part I, II and III Examinations : Original and attested photo copies.
- The Counter-foil (College copy) of the Bank Challan : Original.
- SC / ST / OBC (A & B) / Physically Handicapped Certificate (If applicable) : Original and attested photo copy.
- One copy of Passport size photograph.
