  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

    The course for the PGDM program is spread over six trimesters, each trimester being of 11-12 weeks. The first three trimesters are essentially devoted to foundation courses, across core areas of management.   • Executive PGDM

    The Program is spread over 15 months with flexibility of following two options:
    • Executive PGDM with International module: This option consists of 12 months of course work over 4 trimesters of 11 to 12 weeks each, and three months of field research project at the end of the course work. Of the 12 months, 5 weeks of course work will be carried out at our partner Business School in Europe and the balance will be on campus in Delhi.
    • Executive PGDM without international module: This option also consists of 12 months of course work over 4 trimesters of 11 to 12 weeks each, and three months of field research project at the end of the course work. The entire course work is held on campus in Delhi.

    The complete Program is of 85.5 credits, where each credit corresponds to the equivalent of 10 hours of classroom contact. During this program, students will complete 20 core courses, 8 elective courses and a field research project work besides either two International module courses or two elective courses at IMI. A student also has an option to pursue a Course of Independent Study in lieu of two elective subjects, as per the norms defined in the student’s handbook. Classes are of ninety minutes duration and each course (of 3 credits) would have twenty such sessions which means 30 hours of class room interaction. The entire program is normally completed over a 15 month period, with a maximum allowed duration for completion being 2 years from the date of enrollment.

  • Fellow Program in Management (FPM)

    The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral program of the International Management Institute (IMI). The primary focus of the programme is to prepare candidates for academic careers in teaching and research as well as consultancy in disciplines underlying business management. The programme includes intensive formal courses, individually pursued self study courses on special topics and at the core lies the research programme. The FPM students are expected to work closely in their areas of interest with the faculty members of IMI to further the existing theory and practice in the field of business management.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

Education Background

To be eligible for admission to the PGDM Program, the participants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline, from a recognized university in India or abroad (recognized by the UGC / Association of Indian Universities), however, final selection may be on higher percentage based on the total number of applications received. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years education, after completing higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent. Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor’s degree or equivalent are also eligible, provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 30, 2016. Candidates who are unable to comply with this requirement may be asked to withdraw from the program. It is desired that candidates complete all academic requirements before joining the program to enable them to keep pace with the rigor and internal assessment schedule of the program.

Participant profile

Participants for the PGDM program may be from any discipline such as Engineering, Humanities, Commerce, Economics, Medicine or any other branch of education. Candidates with relevant work experience as also fresh graduates are welcome to apply.


Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDMHRM)

Executive PGDM

Candidates who fulfill the following requirements, are eligible to make an application for admission:

Educational Background: To be eligible for admission to the Executive PGDM Program, the participants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. The bachelors’ degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years education, after completing higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of full time, post-qualification, experience as on March 31, of the respective year.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Participant Profile

Fellow Program in Management (FPM)

The candidates for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India, or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE. The degrees of candidates from foreign universities must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Similarly, the PGDM of Indian Institutions must be recognized as equivalent to MBA by AIU or approved by AICTE.

A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks

OR

A Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade point average plus minimum of one year’s work experience.

OR

Any professional qualifications such as CA, CMA and CS with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. CA/CMA/CS must also possess a graduation degree from a university recognized by AIU.

In addition, all the candidates must have secured a minimum of 55 % marks in all of their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics will be given due credit in the selection process.

Classroom & Auditorium

The aesthetically designed IMI, India Campus es a stimulating atmosphere, conducive to all round development of a participant. The Amphitheatre is the nodal point of campus life around which the academic block, residence and recreational facilities are located.

The centrally air-conditioned academic complex consists of spacious lecture halls, the Tata Chemicals Computer Centre, BOC Conference Room, RPG Auditorium, Williamson Magor Library, Faculty Chambers and Administrative Offices. All lecture halls have access to latest presentation equipment such as DLP Multimedia Projectors, Laptop Notebook Computers, Electronic Copy Boards, OHP Projectors, Internet and Intranet Connectivity and a State-of-the-Art Sound System providing for a unique/wholesome complete classroom experience.

Computer Center

IMI has a state of the art computing facility for the students on campus. The Tata Chemicals Computer Centre has Five servers (IBM, HP) with Windows 2008, Windows 2003, and Linux as the operating environments. The campus has a network of more than 400 plus computers, which is Wi-Fi enabled to ensure mobile computing at all locations including hostel rooms, amphitheatre and canteen. The campus has a 155 mbps, 24-hour high-speed internet connectivity.

IMI Campus has two exclusive high-tech computer labs. These computer labs are equipped with more than 100 (HP) computers having latest chip-set with TFT monitors for on-line classes and practice sessions. Two high-speed laser printers and one A-3 Color DeskJet printer are available for printing jobs. The software library includes the latest software like, Windows Vista/XP Professional, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Office 2010, Office 2007, Visual Studio 2000, QSB, CMMS, QSOM, E-views 8, MS Project 2010, SPSS 20.0, SAS, MSDN Academic License, Quick Heal End Point SecutiryServer Client Editions, SAP, MS Back-office 2000, ORACLE 8i (ENTERPRISE), Internet Developer Suite with ATS, Visual Age for Java Enterprise, Web-sphere Studio Advance Edition, Macromedia Director, Corel Draw, Photoshop, Rational Suite, Mathematical 4.2 Software.

Online assessment software is installed on the network for grading, online feedback, online quiz, and online attendance. The students, staff and faculty have been provided with Login to access the software anywhere in the campus to view student performance.

Library & Information Service

The Williamson Magor Library and Information Service (WML) offers access to a wide range of both printed and electronic sources with an increasing emphasis being placed upon electronic delivery of information to users. The WML aims to support the diverse information needs of all our Students, Faculty, Researchers, and staff through the provision of high quality Information resources and services. The library is fully automated. The WML has a stock of about 22150 books covering not only all aspects of business and management, but also related areas such as economics, accounting , finance, the behavioral sciences and information technology. Moreover, there is a substantial collection of reference books.

The 5256 periodical titles subscribed [online + hardcopy versions] by the WML are vital sources for academic research and up-to-date business information. Most Journals are available electronically through the Business Source Complete [EBSCO], SAGE, ScienceDirect, JSTOR and Emerald databases. The hard copies of Journals are available and are arranged alphabetically by title. Besides, IMI library is also having a good collection of digital video resources such as BBC Worldwide Training programs etc. A number of daily and weekly newspapers from different parts of India and abroad are also available. Its publication ‘Contents Pages in Management’ enables users to scan rapidly the contents of the major journals received every week, which is circulated on the intranet. “Top News of the Day” and “Recent Arrivals” are some of the other useful services rendered by the library.

A Library Committee, headed by a senior faculty member, provide guidance to the library to undertake the activities of this vital resource and constantly engages with other stake holders in keeping the domain contemporary . The emphasis being more on quality of service than merely quantity.

IMI Hostel

The modern aesthetically designed residence at IMI forms an integral part of the academic and social life. Besides promoting group study and learning outside the classroom, the residential accommodation also enables participants to optimally utilise IMI resources like the library and computing facilities with internet and intranet available in all the hostel rooms.

The residence provides students with excellent mess facilities, well-furnished rooms and recreational facilities including a modern air-conditioned gymnasium. The Amphitheatre is the venue of most social activities such as “Kritva” the annual management festival of IMI, India.

Rooms are furnished and allotted on a double occupancy basis.

Nestled in Qutab Institutional Area, International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi was established in 1981 in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD, Lausanne). IMI is India’s first corporate sponsored Business School with sponsorship from corporate houses like RPG Enterprises, Nestle, ITC, SAIL, Tata Chemicals, BOC and Williamson Magor etc. Over a period of time in the last 33 years the Institute has acquired a truly global status.
