Eligibility Criteria for B.A. / B.Sc./ B.Com. Honours & General Admission for 2012

Calculation of Aggregate

For all applicants having TWO Language subjects : Total of the ‘Aggregate’ = First Language + Second Language + Best Three (3) out of the remaining 4 (Four) conventional subjects.
(For Candidates with 2nd language irrespective of Board follow this rule.) -
For all applicants having only ONE Language subjects : Total of the ‘Aggregate’ = English + Best Four (4) out of the remaining conventional subjects.
(For Candidates without 2nd language irrespective of Board follow this rule.) - Compulsory Environmental Studies will NOT be considered in either case.

Cut-off Marks for General Course

For B.A. General Course :
- All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination.

For B.Sc. General Course (Physical Science) :
- All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

For B.Sc. General Course (Biological Science) :
- All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination with Biology as a subject.

For B.Com. General Course :
- All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination in the Commerce or Science stream (with Accountancy or Mathematics)

For B.A. General Course :
Reservation of seats for SC / ST / PC candidates will be as per the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal. A Certificate from a competent authority must be produced for claiming such reservation. No applicant will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota of reservation.
