Eligibility Criteria for B.A. / B.Sc./ B.Com. Honours & General Admission for 2014


  • Calculation of Aggregate
    • For H.S. and boards with two compulsory languages : AGGREGATE = total of marks in First Language, Second Language and best three out of the remaining conventional subjects (excluding Compulsory Environmental Studies).
    • For Boards without compulsory second language : AGGREGATE = total marks in English and best four out of the remaining conventional subjects (excluding Compulsory Environmental Studies).
    • 10% and 5% of the Aggregate would be deducted in case of the candidates passing in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

  • 10% and 5% of the ‘Best 5 Marks’ would be deducted for all the applicants passing in 2012 and 2013 respectively. (Show Both)

Cut-off Marks in General Courses

  • For B.A. General Course :
    • All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination.
  • For B.Sc. General Course (Physical Science) :
    • All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • For B.Sc. General Course (Biological Science) :
    • All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination with Biology and Chemistry as subjects.
  • For B.Com. General Course :
    • All Categories : Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (excluding compulsory Environmental Studies) in the qualifying examination in the Commerce or Science stream (with Accountancy or Mathematics respectively).

Reservation of seats for SC / ST / PC / OBC candidates will be as per the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal. A Certificate from a competent authority must be produced for claiming such reservation. No applicant will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota of reservation. Candidates having S. C./S. T. / O.B.C Certificate issued by States other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category for admission.
