Selection Criteria for B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours & General Admission 2012

• »For Honours Course
  • Candidates will be selected strictly on the basis of Merit List.
  • The rank in the Merit List will be prepared upon Effective Total.
  • Effective Total will be calculated aggregating the Top Four Subjects and the subject marks / marks obtained in the * Related Subjects.
  * The word "Related Subject" shall mean the following for :
  • B.Com. (Honours) -
    Accountancy, BEBM, Business Organization, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, Office Practise and Secretarial, Financial Accounting, Elements of Cost Accountancy and Auditing, Book Keeping, Commerce, Cost Accountancy and Principal of Management.
  • Economics (Honours) - Mathematics, Business Mathematics, BEBW (W.B.C.H.S.E.)
  • Physiology (Honours) - Biology, Biotechnology
  • Botany (Honours) - Biology, Biotechnology
  • Zoology (Honours) - Biology, Biotechnology
  • Philosophy (Honours) - Psychology
• »For General Course
  • Candidates will be selected strictly on the basis of Merit List.
  • The rank in the merit list will be prepared upon the aggregate marks.
  • Selection will be made in line with the intake capacity recommended by C.U. Authority.
• »Reservation
  • The Reservation of seats will be according to the existing government norms.
• »Sports Quota
  • 1% (one percent) of the total seats up to the limit of 4 students in a particular Department.
    • Applicants seeking admssion under Sports Quota are to submit application through online by ticking appropriate field.
    • Selection will be made on physical verification of neccessary documents and test, if required, by Sports Comittee.
    • The decision of the Sports Comittee is final subject to the fulfillment of minimum eligibility norms of the University of Calcutta.
