Eligibility for Admission
  • Honours Course - For Honours Course a student should have passed in 10 + 2 Course from WBCHSE or any other equivalent examination along with English as a subject of 100 Marks. Admission to the Honours Course is strictly made according to the norms of the Gour Banga University, Malda, which are to be followed:
    • 45 % Marks in aggregate or,
    • 40 % Marks in aggregate and 50 % marks in the concerned subject.
    • For SC / ST candidates, the minimum marks for eligibility will be
      • 40 % marks in aggregate or,
      • 35 % of marks in aggregate with 50 % marks in the concerned subject.
    • Admission to a course would be done according to the intake capacity.
    • However, as per the rules of the Govt., 22 % and 6 % of seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates respectively.
    • In case of admission on transfer, which shall not be permitted other than in first year of degree classes (hons and Gen), a student will be offered only that subjects which will match with this college and the previous one where he / she studies.
  • General Courses - For General Course a student should have passed in 10 + 2 Course from WBCHSE or any other equivalent examination along with English as a subject of 100 marks.
  • In case of taking Geography as an elective subject preference will be given to the students of General Course.

  • Free Student-ship - A limited number of students are to be entitled for half-free in Tuition Fees on the basis of merit, regularity and poor-financial conditions.
  • College Libraries - Our enriched college library has been filled with precious books and suggested Journals. It has a spacious reading room with modern electronic devices. Each and every department has huge number of recommended books and study materials. Various types of books other than departmental are also available to widen the outlook of the students. Students will be allowed to keep books upto 15 days at most. If they fail to return the books by this time, a fine of Re 1 have to be paid for each day.
  • College Canteen - A college canteen which is spacious, well-furnished, decorated, hygienic and beautiful to look at, is a part and parcel of the college. Students can take fresh, variety and tasty tiffin to refresh them within the monotonous condition of study. Students coming from remote area can take the nutritious food from the college canteen.
  • Cycle Shed - A spacious and attractive cycle shed is also an essential part of the college. Students can keep their cycles and motor cycles safely without worrying anything.
  • Seminar Hall - To broaden the attitude and develop the mental horizon of the students as well as of the teachers of the college, a big Seminar Hall with well equipped electronic devices, is an integral part of the institution, where seminars, Work-shops, Debates, Symposium, Exhibitions, various cultural Programmes and other competitions are held from time to time.
  • College Union - The Union is formed for every one year through Election by the college students as per the constitution formed by North Bengal University and Gour Banga University. The Union organizes Cultural and Social activities, games and sports, publishes the college magazine under the supervision of the teacher-in-charge of various departments.

Co-curricular Activities
  • National Service Scheme (N.S.S) - Two units of 100 Student Volunteers each of National Service Scheme (NSS) are functioning in the college under the supervision of Dr. Achinta Kr. Banerjee & Prof. Suman Das, Programme Officers of the Units. The aim of this scheme is to inculcate the spirit of service amoung the students who are expected to serve the college in particular and the backward community in this locality in general. The Units are running successfully and progressing towards a great success by beautifying the college campus in particular and adopting an Ideal village named Dhanaipur (adivasipara) in general.
  • National Cadet Corps (N.C.C) - The college authority has taken a timely step of initiating an NCC unit to encourage the students to take part in Paramilitary Training and to boost up for building a disciplined character.
  • Departmental Seminar - Departmental Seminars are held in each and every month to broaden the Teacher - Student relationship and moreover the seminars enable the students to enhance their subject wise in depth knowledge.
  • Cultural Function - The cultural functions which are held frequently in the college, cater the students a platform to develop their cultural minds and also get opportunity to explore their hidden qualities in song, recitation, painting, dance and drama.
  • Quiz Competition - College Teachers organize quiz competitions occasionally for the enrichment of the student's knowledge and simultaneously to prepare themselves for the competitive exams of upcoming days.
  • Observation of Red Litter Days
Dewan Abdul Gani College, which came into existence in 1994 at Harirampur in the district of Dakshin Dinajpur, is one of the leading co-educational degree colleges under the affiliation to University of North Bengal and to Gour Banga University, Malda from the year, 2008.

The previous inapposite educational infrastructure at Harirampur prompted the academics of this locality to set up this college keeping pace with the modern education and boosting up the generations towards a bright future.
