• Duration : 2 years + 6 months internship
• Eligibility : H.S.[10+2](Science) or equivalent.
  **Students from Arts/Commerce stream may be admitted after completion of 6 (Six) months Pre-Optometry & Pre-Technology course.
  No extra time necessary for this course. This course and Original course will run simultaneously during the same period.

Admission Rules

Procedure

Application for Admission is to be made in Prescribed Application Form, cost Rs. 150/-; (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) along with Cash/DD of Rs. 150/- ( Rupees One Hundred & Fifty only) as fee for Admission Test ( Non-refundable) payable in favour of DR. K. R. ADHIKARY COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY & PARAMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY.
The completed application addressed to the Administrator-cum-Principal should be submitted in the office of College Building in hand/ by post before announced last date and with late fees of Rs. 100/- ( Rupees One Hundred only ) up to 10 days after last date.

Selection

Candidates will have to appear before a Board of Selection Committee or an Entrance Examination will be done as per decision of the authority for selection. Candidate while submitting the Application in hand will know the date and time of the said test. In case of submissions of Application by post along with self-addressed stamped (for registered post) 11 × 25 cm. size envelops to send the Admit Card.
List of selected Candidates will be displayed in the Notice Board of the College.

English will be the common language. However, every effort is made by Lecturers to present their subjects in words, which are easy to understand. Lecturers would always be ready to help any student, who has not understood.

Facility Offered

• Aparatus : The fullest opportunity will be provided to students to carry out Clinical Work themselves through each course.
• Library : The students will be permitted to avail themselves the facilities available in the College Library as per rules and regulations of College.
• Hostel : At present no Hostel facilities are available.
• Internship : In case of 6 months Internship, no remuneration will be given at the time of internship because it is the part of the courses to improve the practical skill of the Students.
• Grooming & Placement Assistance : To develop English Enhancement skills, listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills, vocabulary, written skills, presentation skills etc., if suggested by administration then grooming session is compulsory for all students of all courses. A nominal fee will be charged for this session. Grooming session & campus interview for placement will be conducted by our Placement Cell.

Dr. K.R.Adhikary College of Optometry & Paramedical Technology is imparting training in paramedical courses since 2003 and is affiliated to University of Kalyani and also an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. In this connection we like to state that shortage of Paramedics is a Global Problem. To reduce the gap between demand & supply of Paramedics, Dr. Tapan Kumar Adhikary, Founder of this Institution submitted proposals to University of Kalyani on 2002 to introduce different Optometry & Paramedical courses and after considering his proposals University of Kalyani introduced different Optometry and Paramedical Courses from 2003-04 academic session and five certificate courses like Nursing, Community Health Service etc. from 2011-12 academic session. This Institution is the pioneer of Paramedical Colleges under affiliation of a State University in West Bengal.

Another point which we want to mention here is that our Institution is a voluntary organization and registered under S.R. Act.1961 of West Bengal in the year 2005 and our VO/NGO Unique ID : WB/2009/0016754 and regularly taking part actively in the social activities that are related to prevention and treatment of health hazards of common people mainly in rural and slum areas. Our institution is also D.M. managing body approved Institution. We also received grant of exemption u/s. 80G (5)(VI) of the income Tax Act 1961 and registration u/s. 12AA of I.T. Act 1961.

We also established Dr. K.R.Adhikary Seva Pratisthan at Naihati, North 24 Parganas on 2nd July, 2003 and an Out Patients' department at Kalyani on 11th February, 2009 where poor people are treated with free medicine as per our capability and about 50 numbers of poor Cataract patients are operated with I.O.L. implantation free of cost in collaboration with Rotary Hoogly Eye Hospital. Our desire to establish an Eye Hospital for this work in near future.

We also established a School for Mentally Challenged Population named "Astha" at Naihati on 2nd July, 2010. Except this we also established a "Mother & Child Care Unit and Mobile Health Unit" on 7th March, 2010

We work for community development not for any monetary benefit. Our desire to establish a specialized Hospital from which B.P.L. people will take services at subsidized rate and middle class people will take services at a reduced rate.

Lastly our appeal to all kind-hearted personalities to donate Land, Building and Money for our benevolent works. Donor can also join with our different projects.
