Two Years Full-time MBA

The 2-Year full-time MBA Program at EIM gives students opportunity and exposure to hone their skills in coping with the demands of a globalized and dynamic business environment.

The Institute being an off-site campus of the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, follows the courses of the University based on the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. Further, the Institute regularly supplements the University curricula with additional courses to develop support skills in students, and equip them with knowledge inputs in relevant areas.

The 2-year Program is divided into four semesters. In the 1st Semester, students learn all compulsory or core courses that introduce them to theories of management and develop their basic skills required for the later stages of the Program. In the 2nd Semester, while covering other core courses, they are introduced to the major areas or functions of management.

An 8-Week Summer Training follows this Semester, where students work with organizations and deal with live problems or projects.

In the 2nd Year of the Program, i.e. in the 3rd and 4th Semesters, they specialize in areas of their choice, while continuing to cover certain core courses.

Further, the program simultaneously covers full courses in communication, soft skills and personality enhancement, training in self-management, time management, corporate orientation and the like.

Three Years Full-time BBA

The 3-Year full-time regular BBA Program at EIM gives students opportunity and exposure at the very start of their Management Education with the city’s best Academic Delivery System.

EIM offers a 3 year regular fulltime graduation program leading to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree of the University of Kalyani, which is not only recognized by premier companies of India, but worldwide.

EIM’s 3 year fulltime regular BBA program enjoys high reputation for its span, depth and relevance. In today’s corporate environment, no one-dimensional expertise can serve to strategize business activities. At EIM, the curriculum emphasizes on integrating cutting-edge domain knowledge with a wide spectrum of cross-functional expertise and skill sets, so that students become efficient in multi-tasking.

Simultaneously, EIM helps students to build a sound repertoire of soft skills, with specific emphasis on attitude-engineering, communication & presentations, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, team orientation and corporate adaptability. These are honed through structured training modules. In the ultimate, these give our graduates a head start in their career in Management.

Dual Specialisation

EIM provides for a unique Dual Specialisation Program.

First, a student can choose his/her University specialisation area from out of the four functional courses currently on offer, viz. Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Development, and Information Technology.

In addition, he/she must choose any of these functional areas (other than the one chosen for University specialisation) for second specialisation.

For the second specialisation, the Institute issues a Certificate cum mark-sheet on successful completion of the Program. In the 4th Semester, students are also required to do a term paper or project.

The Faculty also regularly posts study materials and assignments on the campus Intranet, for downloading by students.

The Institute regularly organizes Seminars, where leading persons from industry and senior working professionals share their experiences with students. Students also visit Industries to learn about real-life activities and practices first-hand.

The Institute encourages students to test and develop their skills against peer groups through participation in inter-college competitions, management games and other cultural activities both in India and abroad.

The Program is continuously reviewed and enriched to improve its value and keep it up-to-date.

Admissions Procedure

Eligibility

Candidates desiring admission into Eastern Institute of Management need to be graduates of any recognized University in India or abroad with consistently good academic records. Those in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

Additionally, all candidates need to have obtained above average percentile / composite score at the MAT, CAT or similar all-India level test.

The institute will also accept candidates who have applied and appeared for the group discussion and personal interview process conducted by M-JPAT.

Selection Procedure

Candidates are short-listed based on their past school/college/university academic records. MAT/CAT scores, and other criteria detailed by them in the Application Form. Short listed candidates are called to the Institute for a Group Discussion, followed by Personal Interview. Names of candidates finally selected, are posted on this website. Candidates are also informed individually.

The institute will also accept candidates who have applied and appeared for the group discussion and personal interview process conducted by M-JPAT.
