Admission Procedure

• 10% of total intake from AIEEE through CSC counselling.
• 90 % of total intake from JEE through CSC counselling.
• Lateral entry (direct in 2nd year) 20 % of intake capacity in each stream (subject to change in Govt. policy).

Eligibility Criteria:

For Engineering/Technology Academic requirements [Please refer Para – 1.1, page – 72 of AICTE Approval Process Handbook (2013 –2014)]:

Candidates applying for WBJEE – 2013 must have the following minimum academic qualifications, specified by the AICTE, different for different courses as mentioned below. Candidates who are appearing for the higher secondary examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination in 2013 but standing to pass the same with these minimum academic qualifications, specified by the AICTE; will become eligible during counselling after the declaration of results of WBJEE – 2013. The candidates found to possess lower qualifications will be debarred from registration for the counselling process and will not get admission in any of the institutes.

Candidates must pass Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and with at least 30% marks in English (for all categories of candidates) besides having individual pass marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth subject).

Reservation of seats for SC/ST Candidates:

For Self Financing Private Engineering & Technology Colleges of the State, reservation of seats under such categories is NOT a mandatory requirement. However, some of such colleges offer seats to reserved categories of students at the discretion of the concerned College Authority.

It is important to note that such reserved categories of seats are ONLY offered to candidates DOMICILED IN THE STATE OF WEST BENGAL, as per Government rules.

The students passing 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology) and securing 45% or more marks in those subjects taken together (40% for SC / ST students) will be admitted directly to those vacant seats after approval of the competent authority designated by the government.

The Mallabhum Institute of Technology (MIT) is located in Bishnupur, Bankura, West Bengal, India. The whole country has still the nostalgia about the Bishnupur Gharana of music. In brief, artistic designs, cultural sensitivity, indigenous craftsmanship and the vibrant music, all taken together form the moorings of Bishnupur. This has enabled Bishnupur to move forward in keeping with of the trends of the day. Some of these ongoing trends are communication, information, production etc. which are emerging facets of technology with a global tenor. Bishnupur can afford to absorb them, because of its strength in heritage and architecture and human resource.

The term 'Technology', being essentially generic throughout the world acquires a new rationale in the context of Bishnupur; hence the motivation for the foundation of Mallabhum Institute of Technology envisaged by new engineers, doctors, professors and leading figures of the community around Bishnupur.
