UNDER GRADUATE COURSES ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

M.B.B.S. COURSE

  • Nationality: Applicant must be a Resident Indian National and Permanent Resident / Domicile of one of the 8 (eight) North-eastern states of India including Sikkim.
  • The Applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years.
  • He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S.
  • The applicant should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below :
    • The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
    • The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology at the qualifying examination.

Agartala Govt. Medical College (AGMC) was established in 2005 to meet the medical need of the State and to impart a high standard of Medical Education and Service to our State and the other North Eastern parts of the country. With that perspective, along with students of our state, a good number of students from other states are admitted in Agartala Govt. Medical College every year. It helps interaction of our students with the students of other states having diverse cultures, standards, food habits, languages and grows a healthy sense of competitive attitude and National Integrity amongst them, as a member of the same family of AGMC.

The Agartala Government Medical College is situated in the G B Pant Hospital campus in a newly constructed building. It is fully equipped with Laboratories, Dissection Theatres, Lecture Theatres, Central Library, Common Room, Cafeteria, Intercom facilities etc.
A state of the art new Medical College Building will come up by 2007.

Agartala Government Medical College is recognized & approved by Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi and affiliated to Tripura University.
