News - Bihar Board Exam 2018 : Students can’t wear shoes and socks

news
After nearly 1,000 students were expelled for cheating during the Class 12 exams, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has come up with new exam guidelines for class X board exams.

Students sitting for Class 10 boards in Bihar won’t be allowed to wear shoes and socks to examination halls, as a measure to prevent cheating in exams. The board has decided that candidates wearing only slippers will be allowed to enter the examination halls.

According to reports, this is the first time that BSEB has introduced such measure.
Moreover, the instructions have been issued to all district education officers, candidates and parents in this regard.

Here's what BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told :

"Students cannot wear shoes and socks to examination centres. Such practice has already been in place in some competitive examinations. Students can wear slippers. All district education officers and examination centre superintendents have been instructed to follow the board’s order," BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told.

CCTV cameras :

A BSEB official told, "Though all examination centres have CCTVs installed since last year’s examination, the state board did not want to take any chance. We know this move would receive criticism from several quarters. We do not find anything objectionable with the step given the (large) scale of the examination."

The Bihar School Examination Board is established for holding and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, for prescribing the course of studies for such examination and for carrying out such other objects and duties as may be considered necessary for the purpose as stated in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board.
