"Students cannot wear shoes and socks to examination centres. Such practice has already been in place in some competitive examinations. Students can wear slippers. All district education officers and examination centre superintendents have been instructed to follow the boardís order," BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told.
A BSEB official told, "Though all examination centres have CCTVs installed since last yearís examination, the state board did not want to take any chance. We know this move would receive criticism from several quarters. We do not find anything objectionable with the step given the (large) scale of the examination."
The Bihar School Examination Board is established for holding and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, for prescribing the course of studies for such examination and for carrying out such other objects and duties as may be considered necessary for the purpose as stated in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board.
