CBSE UGC National Eligibility Test Registrations 2017 : Online registration begins from today

The online registration process of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 will start from today on the official website, cbse.net.in

The UGC NET exam 2017 will be conducted on November 5 in three separate sessions.

Step to apply online registration :

  • Go to the official website - cbsenet.nic.in
  • Click on 'Fill Application Form - NET November 2017'
  • Click on new registration
  • Fill the all the required details
  • Upload scanned photo and signature
  • Pay the examination fee
  • Take a print out for future use

Educational qualification :
All the candidates interested in applying need to obtain minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) in master's degree from a recognized university / institute.

Note :

Candidates in their final year of Master's degree are also eligible to apply.

Age limit :
As per official release, there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professorship but for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) the upper age limit is 28 years as on November 1, 2017.

Application fee :

  • Rs 100 : For General category
  • Rs 500 : For OBC category
  • Rs 250 : For Other reserved categories

Qualifying criteria of the NET :
After subsequent orders of the High Court of Kerala, University Grants Commission (UGC) had revised the procedure and criteria of qualifying candidates and as such it has been decided that 6% of the total candidates who appear in the UGC NET examination will be declared qualified.

Important dates :

  • September 11 : Last date to apply
  • September 12 : Last date for submission of fee
  • September 19 : Last date to make corrections in your application form
  • September 19 to September 25 : Application correction
  • October 15 : Admit cards
  • November 5 : Examination date

About CBSE UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) :

University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory organisation established by the union government in 1956. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognised universities and colleges.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) now conducts this exam on behalf of UGC for the post of Lecturer and for providing the JRF for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and in research.
