Lovely Professional Institute (LPU) National Entrance and Scholarship Test (NEST) 2018 LPUNEST (DESIGN) 2018
Lovely Professional University is conducting National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for Design aspirants. Since its inception in 2009, more than 50,000 students are appearing in this exam (LPUNEST) every year. The Test will be conducted in online mode (Pen and Paper Mode test is not allowed).
This test will have twofold advantage as it will act as Entrance Test as well as Scholarship Test.
Entrance Test: LPUNEST (Design) will provide a gateway to all design programmes in LPU and will act as Entrance test for admission in Design Programmes at LPU. For details, refer “Eligibility”.
Extensive Scholarship: LPU envisages to usher an era of accessible and affordable quality higher education to the youth of our country, as on the basis of LPUNEST (Design) score, the university intends to award extensive Scholarship upto Rs. 3.2 Lac per student. Qualifying Examination:
Applicants appearing for LPUNEST (Design) should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2018, in final examination of 10+2 from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi) or State Board or any other Council, Institution, college etc. declared recognised by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi or any other concerned apex body as applicable.
Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination: For admission in B.Design and B.Sc. (Design) applicant should
Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (With English) or equivalent, subject to valid score in LPUNEST (Design) or qualifying UCEED (upto 5562 rank).
Application Form
Application form will be in a format that can be processed by Optical Mark Reader (OMR).
Cost of LPUNEST (Design) Kit (Application Form) is;
- Through online: Rs. 700/- (for boys) and Rs. 400/- (for girls)
- Through offline: Rs. 700/- (for both boys and girls)

Applicant can apply for LPUNEST (Design) without purchasing LPUNEST (Design) Kit.

Option-II: After Purchasing LPUNEST (Design) Kit
Applicant may obtain LPUNEST (Design) Kit from University Campus/Camp Offices or any other prescribed place by paying cash of Rs. 700/- (for both boys and girls). Once the applicant has obtained the LPUNEST (Design) kit, form can be submitted by one of the following methods:

All our correspondence including centre booking and issue of E-hall Ticket/Appointment Letter/Admit Card details will be through email only. Therefore, the applicants are requested to get ready with valid email id and mobile number for contact. No separate communication will be done for the same.
Incomplete Applications
Incomplete application (For example: Declaration not signed) will not be processed. LPU will not take responsibility to inform these applicants. Such applicants will not be able to access the Online Slot Management.
Applicants are hence advised to ensure that the duly filled in application is dispatched along with complete enclosures in all respects.
After declaration of result, counselling and admission process will be conducted.
Online counselling and Seat Allocation starts from 15th March 2018 onwards within the prescribed time limit. Based on the students preference, the seat will be allocated. After the seat is allocated, the applicant needs to deposit the fee through Online Mode or manually by visiting the university campus/ Camp Office.

So the University offers India’s largest Private Scholarship Scheme. The objective of the scheme is to realize the vast talents that may be hidden due to financial constraints. Under this scheme, students have been awarded with scholarship worth Rs. 100+ crores in last year only.
On The basis of performance in LPUNEST (Design) :
‘Top 35% applicants’ appearing for LPUNEST (Design) (subject to qualifying LPUNEST (Design)), will be eligible for Scholarship upto 80000 per annum (i.e upto 3.2 lac) (depending on the performance of the student and programme in which he/ she has taken admission). Important Information
In case an applicant fails to produce the proof of fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria or any other document prescribed by the university or fails to provide original documents for verification by the stipulated date(s), he/she shall not be considered eligible for admission/ scholarship, in any case, if granted due to any reason shall be cancelled and the applicant shall have no claim, whatsoever against the university.

Test centres will be operational on all the days except public holidays and weekly offs. However in a few cities, test centre will be operational on specific days of the month only. The above selection of test city is only to register your preference. The final slot booking will be done by the university on the basis of availability. The university reserves the right to book a slot as per availability of the test centre. The university also reserves the right to add/ remove any test city in the above list. Under no circumstances can an applicant make any claim for booking slot of a particular test city.
The duration of the test is 150 minutes (2 hrs. 30 min.) and it consists of 100 objective type multiple choice questions (MCQs).

Online Entrance Test is a Computer based test. Its salient features are:
The applicant sits in front of the computer, the questions are presented on the monitor and the applicant submits his/her answers through the use of the mouse. The computer is connected to the server, which delivers the test in real time, through a reliable connectivity.
Online Entrance test assumes that the applicant has basic familiarity in the use of computers like use of keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the applicant to acquire these skills before appearing in the test and the university cannot take responsibility for the same.
Procedure for Online Entrance Test:
The applicant must ensure that the computer allotted to him/ her is switched on. Any problem with the computer should be informed to the invigilator immediately.
He/ She will appear for exam in English. All questions will be of the Multiple Choice (MCQ type).
Each MCQ will consist of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement and four responses labeled A, B, C and D. Out of the four responses, only one is correct or the most appropriate answer. Applicants must choose the correct or most appropriate answer by clicking on the button next to the answer. Applicants can navigate freely through the questions.
Rough Work
All rough work should be done in the papers provided at the Test Centre. No papers should be taken to the test hall for this purpose.
Scoring:
Students will be awarded ranks on the basis of marks obtained. In case of two students scoring equal marks in the test, sum of best two subjects will be considered. In case of more students having the same sum of best two, the one getting single highest in any of the subject will be considered and elder candidate will get higher rank.
Applicants should arrive at the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the e-hall ticket. prior to the start of the actual test, there will be pre-test process which includes registration and on-site orientation. If an applicant arrives after the on-site orientation has begun, he/she will not be allowed to take the test. The test hall will be opened 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.
The applicant has to register his/her name at the registration counter. The e-hall tickets of the applicants will be checked to satisfy about the identity of each applicant.
A photograph of the applicant will be clicked at the test centre for verification purpose.
Each applicant will be given a seat with a computer. Applicants must find out and occupy their allotted seats at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the test.
Applicants will not be allowed to carry into the test hall any textual material, printed or hand written, bits of papers or any other material except the e-hall ticket. Applicants are also not permitted to bring calculators, slide rules, electronic watches with facilities of calculators, laptop or palmtop computers, personal stereo systems, walkie-talkie sets, mobile phones, paging devices or any other object/device that is likely to assist in unfair means.
No applicant will be allowed to go outside the test hall till the completion of the entire test/ process. Once applicants leave the hall (even if only to answer the call of nature) he/ she may not be allowed to return under any circumstances. Smoking in the test hall is strictly prohibited. Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are also not allowed to be taken into the test hall.
There are no waiting facilities for family and friends at the test centre. Applicants should plan to meet them elsewhere after the test ends.
Applicants shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their questions only. All actions of the applicant in the test hall will be closely monitored using web cameras and closed circuit TV cameras. Any conversation or movement or disturbance in the test hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour and if an applicant is found using unfair means or impersonation, his/ her candidature will be cancelled and he/ she shall be liable to be debarred from taking examination either permanently or for a specified period to be decided by LPU. LPU reserves the right to withhold the result of such applicants.
Applicants must sign the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided on the e-hall ticket.
For appearing in the test, applicants will have to make arrangements for travelling and boarding at their own.
