The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2017 official notification will be released soon on its official website, ctet.nic.in.

Last year, the exam was conducted on February 21 in two sessions:

Paper I had 150 multiple choice questions based on child development and pedagogy, language I (compulsory), language II (compulsory), mathematics and environmental studies. It carried a total of 150 marks.

Paper II had 150 multiple choice questions based on child development and pedagogy (compulsory), language I (compulsory), language II (compulsory), mathematics and science (for mathematics and science teacher), social studies / social science (for social studies / social science teacher). It carried a total of 150 marks.

CTET scores:

  • The CTET scores shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT's of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi
  • The exam is conducted for candidates to be eligible for selection as a teacher for classes 1 to 8. CTET scores may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
