The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad has invited applications for admission to two year full-time Master of Business Administration Programme for the session 2017.

The Institute:

Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad, is a premier technical education institute of international repute. The Parliament of India recently upgraded ISM Dhanbad to a fullfledged Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) by IIT Amendment Act 2016. The MBA program of IIT (ISM) was launched in 1977 and the erstwhile Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) offering M.Tech since 1977 was rechristened as Department of Management Studies. Constantly rated as a leading Management Studies Department of the country by several rating agencies of repute, the department today offers MBA, M.Tech (IEM), Executive MBA and PhD programs. Given the strong industry interface of IIT (ISM) the department is visited by leading industries for campus placements. Some of them are Accenture, Coal India Ltd., MECL, Nestle, Naukri.com, IDBI Bank, Federal Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Reliance, Airtel, Idea, etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

A Bachelor’s degree after (10+2) in any discipline from a recognized university with a least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to SC,ST and PwD (Differently Abled Categories*)]. For Honours graduates the aggregate will include marks of both Honours and Pass Papers. Candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification examination can also apply.

*Also referred to as Persons with Disability (PwD)

Admission Process:
To apply for admission to MBA program to ISM, applicants should have a valid CAT-2016 score. Application form and Fees have to be deposited online by visiting the IIT (ISM) website.

Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT-2016 scores will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview for final selection. The sanctioned strength for the MBA Program is 62 and the reservation policy of Government of India meant for higher educational institutions is strictly adhered to. Candidates applying for reservation under OBC (Non Creamy layer) category, should submit a valid OBC certificate issued by competent authority issued after January 1, 2017 and as per the given format.

Application Fee:
Application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST and PD candidates) shall be deposited Online (following the link on ISM website).

Note: Fee will not be accepted through Any Other Mode.

Key Dates:

• Application Form & Information Brochure will be available at ISM, Dhanbad’s website from 01st February, 2017 (00:01).
• Last date for submission of filled-in application form along with requisite fee and other relevant documents is 10th March, 2017 (12 PM Midnight).
  Late submission of application form due to delays or any other reasons will not be considered by any means.
• Date of GD & PI on 14th April & 15th April, 2017.
• Declaration of results on website by 28th April, 2017.
• Date of Admission for Merit List Candidates and for Wait List Candidates is on 30th May, 2017.

Note: The institute will not issue any letter to any candidate regarding attending GD/PI as well as selection to the Program. The candidates must consult institute’s website (www.ismdhanbad.ac.in) regularly in this regard or for any updates, if any.
