Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2017 Admit Cards to be released today

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2017 admit cards will be released today, March 14 at 12 noon on jeemain.nic.in.

According to schedule, the 5th Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2017 will be held on (Sunday) April 2.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the examination for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc.

How to download the admit cards:

  • In order to download the same, candidates need to log on to the official website of JEE. Click on relevant link. Enter all the required details in prescribed format. Click to submit. Admit cards will be displayed in the screen.

Important notes:

If a candidate has submitted more than one application:

  • At the time of issuing admit card of JEE (Main), both the application of a candidate (which appear to be similar) are merged and only one admit card is issued. However, the candidate should send e-mail to jeemain@nic.in mentioning both the application numbers and specifying clearly the application number which they want to be considered.

If a candidate does not make any selection:
  • He/she shall be randomly assigned a slot/date as per the availability of the same in the examination city selected by them.

New developments in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2017:

  • There shall be no weightage for class 12 marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination
  • The candidates need to have qualified in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75 per cent marks in class 12 examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12 examination conducted by the respective boards. For the SC/ST students, the qualifying marks would be 65 per cent in class 12 examination.
  • Also, 20000 more students will be able to apply for JEE Advanced 2017. This implies that the 2,20,000 candidates who clear JEE Main will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2017
  • According to the official website of JEE Mains 2017, "All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling an application form of JEE (Main)-2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth and gender which will be validated with the UIDAI's data"
  • From now on, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Odisha will be admitting students in their respective engineering colleges through the JEE exam instead of conducting their own state-level examinations.
