Criteria for Admission to B.A./B.Sc. Honours Courses
(Those who qualified in 2010 are preferred.)

Please note the following:

No distinction between West Bengal Board and Other Boards

Aggregate means Total Marks of the Best FOUR Subjects (at least 100 marks paper) excluding ENVS in the qualifying exam

Best Four Subjects include the Honours subject applied for wherever applicable

Number in brackets ( ) indicates the total number of seats available in the subject

Admission through Merit List based on Index Mark,
Admission Test for Physics (Hon.) only - General Merit Category only

Merit list is prepared based on Index Mark for all category of students

Must have passed in English (with at least 100 Marks paper)

Must have passed in the General (Elective) subjects applied for.

B. Reservation Category (SC/ST/PH/Christian)
SC/ST
Minimum 40% marks in aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the qualifying examination. Index Mark calculated as in General Merit Category
PH/Christian
55% marks in the subject or related subject in the qualifying examination Index Mark calculated as in General Merit Category
  OR  
  A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject in the qualifying examination. Index Mark calculated as in General Merit Category
  OR  
  50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. Index Mark calculated as in General Merit Category
