Note: The students of all streams are to take Environmental Science (50 marks), Bengali (50 marks) and English (50 marks) as compulsory subjects.
How To Apply
Admission is to be sought through the prescribed Application Form available with the Prospectus to be had from the College Office. Copies of Certificates Mark sheets of the previous academic qualifications and of Madhyamik Admit Card shall be attached with the application form. Filled in application form should be sent so as to reach the office on or before the prescribed date. Admission will purely be on the basis of the Vidyasagar University stipulations and career ranking of the students.
Separate application formare to be submitted in different Honours and different combination subjects (General) as given in this booklet. Maximum three applications be submitted by an applicant.

The college comprises a good, well-furnished library having about 41,000 books, and various Journals. Modernization of the library is one of the top priorities of the college. The library contains rare and prestigious reference books. Many of the books have been donated by various people on various subjects.

The Institute organizes Seminars on different issues of contemporary concern. The college has organized National Seminar in the Dept. of English & Anthropology and State Level in the Dept. of Economics & Bengali. The college has also organized the XIXth ABPC Conference. The college is planning to introduces studentâ€™s seminar from from this academic session.

The college encourages students to develop all-round personality. The students of the college have participated in National, State, and Regional level competitions and have bagged prestigious awards. Yuva Utsav is being organized. Events like Classical dance, Folk dance, Group dance, Song, (Classical, Non-Classical) Quiz, Elocutions, Debate, Drama, Painting and Creative Writing are organized.

To bring all the veteran and present students on one platform Alumni Association is being formed to enroll all the students who have studies from this college and are admitted into. This association will be able to bring the two poles together for the betterment of the college. To deal with the grievance of the students, faculty members and office staff of the college. The college has constituted Grievance Redressal Cell. This cell is active in finding solution to various to various grievance put forth before the cell. - » Anti-Ragging Cell
The college has an anti-ragging cell to ensure that no incident of ragging or harassment of girl student can take place. It is clearly stated that if any incident of ragging or harassment of girl student can take place. Ti is clearly stated that if any incident of ragging or harassment of student comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution. Free studentship may be granted by the Governing Body of the College to the poor as well as meritorious students on application up to 10% of the students strength in each class.
- » Medical Check Up
A panel of doctors is invited twice in a month for the medical check-up of the students of the college. A detailed checkup of the students is being conducted. The NSS Units of the college are instrumental in organizing medical check up and talks on various medical subjects for awareness among the students.
Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya was established in 1964 with a vision to serve the Nation's poorest of the poor. Founded by Late Dr. Pabitra Kumar Sen (1906 - 1997), formerly Khaira Professor and Professor Emeritus in Agriculture, University of Calcutta, the institute strives for socio-cultural as well as educational upliftment of the surrounding areas largely populated by SC, ST and other backward communities. The institute is located nearly 18km. west from Jhargram town and 175km. South west from Kolkata.
Seva Bharati Mahavidyalaya, a multi-faculty UG College is approved by the UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act and affiliated to the Vidyasagar University. It has been running the B.P.Ed. course since the academic session 1995-96. The teachers training unit of the college provides a unique educational environment with its own administrative building, a large and well equipped gymnasium, extensive play-fields, a highly enriched library, Laboratories, Audio-visual equipments, recreational facilities, career counseling cell and everything ideal for Physical education centre. The Physical education course is wholly residential with separate Hostels for male & female trainees and the college is administered and managed by a democratic Governing Body approved by the affiliating University and the Government of West Bengal.
