Admission notification for admission to 2-year Masters of Business Administration (Tourism)
Academic Session : 2016-2017
Applications in prescribed form to be downloaded from the website of the University of Burdwan (www.buruniv.ac.in), on and from 18/01/2016 to 10/02/2016, are invited for admission to the 2-year Masters of Business Administration (Tourism) Course of Studies (academic session 2016-2017). The downloaded application form must accompany
a) A Demand Draft of Rs. 150/- (Rupees one hundred fifty only) in favour of the "Finance Officer, The University of Burdwan", payable at State Bank of India, Burdwan University Branch, or a Cash Challan, obtained on depositing Rs. 150/- in the B.U. Cash Counter, Rajbati.
b) Self attested photo copies of mark-sheets of all the public examinations passed and age proof certificate,
c) Self attested Photocopies of the Certificates of SC / ST / OBC / DA / Sports, if any, while the candidate intends to claim reservation under Government rules.

Eligibility for Admission :
Regular Honours graduate with 50% marks in Arts, Commerce, Science, and in any other branches of Social Science in the 10+2+3 pattern or Graduate in Engineering, Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Agriculture having a valid CMAT / MAT / CAT / XAT and GMAT score-card.
Selection :
Selection of candidates for admission to the Master of Business Administration (Tourism) programme will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained in Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The Group Discussion & Personal Interview test will be conducted by the Department of Tourism Management, B.U.
The short list of the candidates selected to appear for Group Discussion and Viva-Voce will be displayed on 16/02/2016 at the Office of the Secretary, F.C. (Arts) and will also be available on the university website www.buruniv.ac.in.
Group Discussion & Personal Interview test will be held on 24/02/2016.
Final list of selected candidates will be notified on 26/02/2016.
Date of admission : 01/03/2016 and 02/03/2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in the Department of Tourism Management at Composite Arts Building, Golapbag, B.U.
Candidates, along with the University application form, must submit the self attested photocopy of the valid CMAT / MAT / CAT / XAT and GMAT score-card held by them.
Reservation : As per Govt. rules.

Relevant Certificate must conform to West Bengal Govt. Memo No. 1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated 20th June, 2011.Candidates claiming reservation against SC/ST and OBC-A/OBC-B (relevant certificate is required) quota of seats must submit relevant caste certificates issued in their favour by one of the authorities listed below:
*** [Instructions for Sports quota candidates] : Candidates seeking admission against Sports (SP) quota of seats must have to submit certificates for their participation in Inter-State or Inter-University Sports and Athletic competitions (not earlier than Madhyamik level) and physically fit for representing the University team in AIU Games as per AIU norms. Candidates, who claim reservation against Sports quota, must also personally appear before the Board on 12/02/2016 (Friday) at 2-00 p.m. in the Office Chamber of the Secretary, Faculty Council (Arts etc.), with all relevant certificates of performance in original for verification of their eligibility under this quota. If the candidate claiming reservation under Sports category fails to appear before the board on the stipulated date and time, he /she will be treated as a general candidate.
