Before filing of application form please read the instruction carefully. In some cases a student may apply for more than one course, if eligible as per eligibility criteria (mentioned Section – 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6,). In such cases, the candidate must state his / her order of preference. Candidate should take decision very carefully about how many course(s) he is eligible to apply and how many course(s) he intends to apply. He has to select all the course(s) with his order of preference once at a time. Computer will automatically generate the required no. of Application Form(s), and the amount of Application Fee to be deposited and the Receipt page.
Significance of Order of Preference
In some cases a candidate may apply for more than one course with Order of Preference. Candidate should give his order of preference carefully; it may not be changed later. During Selection process of all the options of candidate with Higher Merit will be considered first then the options of the next higher merit candidates will be considered. Once the candidate is selected in one option, all the lower options will be closed, keeping the higher options if available, remains open for future chance. The preference 1 is higher option than preference 2 and so on. The candidate should select the course as preference 1 which he thinks the best one and he intends to get admission if he got chance. Accordingly 2nd best course as preference 2 and so on.

For SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PWD Candidates

SC/ST/PWD reservation as per University rules and practices to be followed in both “Part-A” and “Part-B” under the Non Sponsored category. The University Reservation Rules framed time to time shall be applicable.
With regard to reservation Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates it will be provided as SC : 22%, ST: 6% for all courses.
For admission to different courses an SC/ST/PWD candidates getting admission should have obtained in the previous examination, qualifying marks not lower by more than 25% of marks obtained by the last candidate of the General category.
Where merit list will be prepared on the basis of score with fractional weightage of different fractions (like entrance test, qualifying exam marks, 10+2 level exam marks, interview, etc. ), the SC/ST/PWD candidate should obtain final score not lower than 25% than that of obtain by the last candidates admitted of General Category.
Where merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test the SC/ST/PWD candidate should obtained entrance marks not lower than 25% than that of obtained by the last candidates admitted of General Category.
SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates of domicile state are entitled to get the reservation facility i.e. SC/ST/PWD candidates hailing from states other than West Bengal are not eligible for such benefits and they will be treated as General Category candidates. Candidate seeking admission in Reserved Category seat must be domicile of West Bengal and accordingly submission of Domicile Certificate in prescribed format from competent authority is mandatory at the time of application. The Domicile of West Bengal shall be treated for those candidates who are EITHER Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on..........OR Whose parent (s) is/ are permanent resident (s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the state of West Bengal (Proforma-B)
THE CERTIFICATE BEING SUBMITTED BY THE CANDIDATE FOR CLAIMING RESERVATION UNDER SC/ST/OBC QUOTA; MUST HAVE BEEN ISSUED BY THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY, ON A DATE PRIOR TO THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION. CERTIFICATE ISSUED ON A LATER DATE BY ANY AUTHORITY, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION. -
OBC (OBC-A & OBC-B) reservation (non creamy layer) will be 6% of the total seat for the year 2016 as additional seat. OBC student getting admission should obtain marks in the previous qualifying examination in the relevant last qualifying examination not lower than 10% than that obtained by the last candidate admitted from the general category (if applicable).

OBC Seat Reservation
That total reservation of seats for OBC Candidates in each course to be 6% i.e. Number of seats for all P.G. courseto be remain same like last year.
Clarification regarding reservation on OBC seat earmarked for OBC-A & B.- If there is only one seat reserved for OBC category, then the seat to be earmarked for the candidates under Part-A i.e. for 60% of seat reserved for CU candidate.
- If there are two (2) nos, of seat, then the one seat each may be earmarked for OBC-A & OBC-B Category respectively under Part-A (60% of seats reserved for CU candidates).

If there are 3 (Three) nos. of reserved seat for OBC candidates, then two nos. of seat to be earmarked for OBC-A & one of seat to be earmarked for OBC-B candidates.
Out of two OBC-A Seats, one from Part-A and other from Part-B.
One OBC-B Seats be earmarked for Part-A . -

If there are 6 (Six) nos. of reserved seat for OBC candidate, then three nos. of seat to be earmarked for OBC-A & three of seat to be earmarked for OBC-B candidate.

If there are 7 ( Seven) nos. of reserved seat for OBC candidate, then four nos. of seat to be earmarked for OBC A & three of seat to be earmarked for OBC-B candidate.
Out of four OBC-A Seats, two from Part-A and other two from Part-B.
Out of three OBC-B Seats, two from Part-A and other from Part-B. -
Similar trend to be followed in case of more than 7 seats.
i) If no suitable OBC candidate found in the respective earmarked category under Part-A and Part-B, then the benefit will pass on to the other part.
- If sufficient suitable no. of SC/ST/PWD/OBC C.U. candidates are not available in Part–“A”, the seats may be filled up by the Part–“B” and vice-versa.
- SC/ST/PWD/OBC Candidates securing equal or higher marks than the last candidate admitted from the general category will be treated both as “General Category” as well as respective reserve category.
- Vacant seat(s) of Part A / Part B etc. categories due to in sufficient suitable applicant may be filled by any other category suitable student available on the basis of merit.

For SC/ST candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate shall be admissible on last qualifying marks (if applicable) in minimum eligibility requirements in comparison to general candidates in the admission. For example , if eligibility marks for General Candidates be 60% then the eligibility marks for SC/ST Candidate be 55%. Similarly 5% relaxation in H.S. marks (Where applicable).
Note
If the candidate avails facility in minimum eligibility requirement then the candidate will be treated under concerned reserved category. -
PWD (Persons with Disabilities) Persons with disabilities having 40% and above degree of disability will enjoy a 3% reservation horizontally in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST, OBC–A, OBC-B and in the Unreserved or General Category, and such candidates, if available, shall be placed towards the top of the list prepared for each category of students.
For PWD candidates, there shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate shall be admissible on last qualifying marks (if applicable) in minimum eligibility requirements in comparison to general candidates in the admission. For example , if eligibility marks for General Candidates be 60% than the eligibility marks for PWD Candidate be 55%. Similarly 5 % relaxation in H.S. marks (Where applicable).
The PWD candidates claiming seats under reserved category are required to produce appropriate PWD certificates issued by the competent authority satisfying the following criteria :
Officer-in-Charge or Medical Head of Primary Head Centres, Block Primary Health Centres, State General Hospitals, Rural Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals or the District Hospitals run by the State Government or any hospital run by a statutory body or authority.
PWD category candidates will be ELIGIBLE with a minimum of 40% disability subject to the condition that the candidate is capable of carrying out all activities related to theory / practical work, as applicable, to the courses without special concession and exemption.
Where merit list will be prepared on the basis of score with fractional weightage of different fractions (like entrance test, qualifying exam marks, 10+2 level exam marks, interview, etc.), the PWD candidate should obtain final score not lower that 25% than that of obtained by the last candidates admitted from General Category.
PRESCRIBED FORMAT OF DOMICILE CERTIFICATES :
Explanation / Clarification for Residential / Domicile requirement.
Candidate seeking admission in Reserve category seats must be domicile of West Bengal and accordingly submission of Domicile certificate in prescribed format from competent authority is mandatory at the time of application. The Domicile of West Bengal shall be treated for those candidates who are
EITHER
Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on...........(Proforma A-1 and A-II)
OR
Whose parent(s) is / are permanent resident ( s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the state of West Bengal ( Proforma-B)
Competent Authority to issue Domicile Certificate
Proforma A-1 and Proforma-B : It must be signed and certified by any of the following competent authorities from Central Government or State Government having local jurisdiction over the place of the permanent residence of the concerned candidate or his / her parents, as the case may be viz. District Magistrate, (ii) Additional District Magistrate, (iii) Deputy Magistrate (iv) Deputy Collector; (v) Subdivisional Officer ; (vi) Block Development Officer; (vii) Superintendent of Police; (viii) Additional Superintendent of Police (ic)Sub-divisional PoliceOfficer or Deputy Superintendent of Police (x) Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Police Commissionerate; (xi) Judicial Magistrate of any rank or position in the concerned District or Metropolitan Locality or Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta or Hon’ble Supreme Court of India;(xii) Commissioner , Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Municipal Corporation (xiii) Executive Officer of Municipality; xiii) Assistant Secretary / Equivalent or above in the Secretariat to the Government of West Bengal (including GTA) or Central Govt. (xv) Deputy Director or above in the Directorate to the Government of West Bengal or Central Government.
Every Official certifying the Domicile Status of the candidate or his/her parents MUST provide one’s Full NAME, DESIGNATION, PLACE OF POSTING WITH ADDRESS, LANDLINE AND MOBILE NUMBER ALONGWITH EMPLOYEE’S IDENTITY CARD NUMBER, These details are MANDATORY, CERTIFICATION FROM ANY AUTHORITY OTHER THAN WHAT HAVE BEEN ENUMERATED ABOVE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Note : No elected people’s representative like Municipal Commission, Counselor of Municipal Corporation, any elected member of three–tier Panchayat system or GTA, MLA or MP is entitled to issue such certificates.
Proforma A-II
Domicile certificate in this proforma may be obtained from Head of the Institution from which the candidate has passed his/her 10+2 examination. Such certificate may be issued based on verification of the school education record of the candidate. The proforma such certificate is given hereunder & to be downloaded.
PROFORMA A-I, PROFORMA A-II - For MCA course: Admission through Joint Entrance for Computer Application (JECA). Reservations of SC, ST, PWD, OBC as per University rules. Other reservation rules like CU / NON CU, / Part-A / Part-B etc. are not applicable for MCA Course.
- If sufficient suitable candidates are not available in any reserved seats like Part-A / Part-B may be filled up by the available other Part students.
- Relaxation of Cut-off Marks for SC / ST / PWD / OBC-A / OBC-B candidate : As per University rules and practices.

For Non-CU Candidates
- 60% of total seat in each course be earmarked for C.U. students only. This 60% of total seat be termed as Part – “A” seat in each course. All the current year C.U. and C.U. Autonomous College Honours Graduate will be considered in Part – “A”.

Rest 40% of total seat in each course be earmarked for both Non-C.U. and C.U. candidates. This 40% of total seat be termed as Part – “B” seat in each course. C.U. Honours Graduate candidates of the preceding year will be considered in Part – “B” only.
Part – B :
Non-C.U. candidate means the candidate who passed the required Bachelor Examination as eligibility degree for admission in relevant P.G. courses from the University other than Calcutta University.
Non-C.U. Honours graduates or its equivalent of the current year and of the immediate preceding year for all courses.- Honours graduate or, its equivalent of Other Indian Universities of (10+2+3) pattern. Candidates passing Honours in Science with 1st class in undergraduate level from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhas Open University and the Distance Education Programme of Other Universities in West Bengal of current year and immediate preceding year.
- Non-C.U. Botany Hons Graduates are not eligible to apply in M.Sc. (Ag.) in GPB, PP and Horticulture.
- Non-C.U. Chemistry Hons Graduates are not eligible to apply in M.Sc. Ag. Chem. & Soil Science.
- Non-C.U. Hons. Graduates in Statistics and Mathematics are not eligible to apply for B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering.
- Non-C.U. candidate may apply in maximum of three courses, if eligible under the Faculty of Science, Technology, Agriculture and Home Science.
- Non C. U. Final Year candidate may also apply as ‘Appeared Candidate’ and to be included in the Part-B merit list after production of original Pass Mark sheet satisfying the requisite eligibility criteria before Entrance Test or Interview, as applicable whichever is earlier.

- All Non-C.U. students admitted in the P.G. Courses must have to submit application for Registration at Calcutta University in prescribed format along with Original Migration Certificate from previous University within a month of admission.
General Information
- The candidates are required to apply through ONLINE process only accessing the website www.caluniv-ucsta.net. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before starting the process of online application.
- Candidates applying for more than one discipline have to select all the courses at a time during online submission of application(s). system will automatically generate the no. of application form(s) required and the total amount of application fees to be deposited. Candidates have to pay total application fee (for all the application) once through State Bank of India. No Need to send the hard-copy of the application form at this moment. However, candidates must keep a hardcopy (print out) of the submitted application form and e-receipt of Challan (Application Fee) to be downloaded from payment history of State Bank collect and other relevant document signed by the candidate in each pages of documents & form. All these document to be submitted for verification when called for in notice.
- The University reserves the right to call a limited number of candidates for Written Test and / or Interview.
- No. TA / DA and accommodation shall be provided to the candidates for attending the Written Test and / or Interview.
- Incomplete application / application without relevant supporting documents and requisite application fee (as applicable) at the time of Interview shall be out rightly rejected and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of short listing / selection / interview.
- The University reserves the right to withdraw the admission at any stage in case a candidate does not possess the requisite qualification and / or percentage of marks in qualifying degree or supplies any false information.
- In case of any mistake occurs inadvertently in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage of admission, the University reserves the right withdraw / cancel / modify any communication made to the candidates.

Note :
- Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission in a programme. Applicants must satisfied themselves about their eligibilities as prescribed before filling in the application form. The candidates’ performance in the written test / interview should be at the levels expected for the respective programme.
- Submission of application does not confer any right on the applicant for being issued with Admit Card for appearing in the Entrance Test and also for being called for Interview / admission. If an applicant is inadvertently selected for provisional admission or allowed to appear at the Entrance Test and or Interview who otherwise does not fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements, he / she cannot, a later date, use as a right to claim that he/ she meets the eligibility requirements APPLICATION FEE IS NOT REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUM STANCES.
- AFTER EXAMINATION OR ADMISSION, OR DURING ANY STAGE THEREOFF, IT IS FOUND ON SCRUTINY that any certificate found fake / forged would lead to cancellation of the admission of the concerned candidate for therewith during the concerned course of study without any notice. Furthermore, such candidate shall be prosecuted and also debarred from appearing any Admission / Entrance Test of this University in future.

Before Online submission candidate should collect
- Photocopies of all relevant Mark Sheets (10th Standard onwards) etc.
- Soft copy of scanned Passport size photo (3.5 cm X 3.5 cm) and Signature in Pendrive / CD / Email (not more than 20 kb each in jpg/jpeg format) or, alternatively recent passport size photo (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) of the candidate should be pasted one each of the computer generated printed copy of the application form.

Application Fee
Application Fee : Rs. 100/- (for GENERAL and others candidate) and Rs. 50/- (for SC/ST/PWD candidate) for each group of application. All payments of Application Fee to be deposited through ‘State Bank Collect’ (www.onlinesbi.com). Bank charges extra to be borne by the candidate.
Payments of all courses to be made in a Single Transaction. Payments once made are not refundable.
Two payment methods are available i.e. online payment through Internet Banking /ATM cum Debit Card/ Credit Card or by cash deposition at any State Bank Branch.
The instructions for the On-Line Payment of Application Fees The Application Fees can be paid through Sate Bank Collect online Banking from anywhere. Facility can be operated by student's parents also through their online banking facility. However, they should enter theirward's details correctly. The steps stated below shall be strictly followed

- Press Submit.
- Select Payment Category: M.Sc./B.Tech. ADMISSION.
- Enter your (1) Form No., 2) Name, 3) Email, 4) DOB, 5) Mobile, and 6) Total Application Fees as mentioned in Application form after online submission.
- Enter Name, Mobile Number and DOB.
- Enter the Text as shown in the Image appearing on screen.

- Please verify the entries carefully for its correctness. Once transaction is completed cannot be reverted.

- In Card Payments, you have three options: 1. SBI ATM-cum-Debit Card, 2. Other Bank Debit Cards and 3. Credit Cards (Check the Bank Charges, appearing against all these options).
- Note that Bank Charges are minimum for SBI Net Banking and SBI ATM-cum-Debit Card.
- After payment, print e-Receipt from State Bank Collect under “Payment History” option. B. Payment by Cash If you select payment mode in Cash, you will get option for bank as SBI. Bank Commission is Rs. 50/- extra to be borne by the candidate. Instructions for Payment of Fess by Cash through “State Bank Collect” from SBI Portal www.onlinesbi.com (follow same Steps 1 to 17 as mentioned above then).
- Click on the other payment mode option as SBI Branch.
- Follow the further process as per the instructions appearing on screen.
- Print Pre acknowledgement Payment (PAP) for cash payment through any SBI Branch.
- Go to any SBI Branch and make the payment on production of the PAP.
- After payment, print e-Receipt from State Bank Collect under “Payment History” option.
- Please take Photo Copy of e-Receipt.
