Bengali |
3-Year B.A. Honours/Major degree* in the subject or in Comparative Literature from a recognised University with at least 55% marks (49.5% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category, 45% for Sports category and 41.25% for SC/ST category) in Honours papers.
(In case Honours/Major is NOT specified/ mentioned in the mark-sheet for the BA Degree of an applicant, then he/she will NOT be eligible.) |
Comparative Literature |
Category-I A minimum three-year Bachelors degree* with Honours/Major in Comparative Literature with at least 40% marks, or, a three-year Bachelors degree* with Honours/Major in any literature subject with at least 50% marks (45% for PD/Sports/OBC-A/OBC-B category and 40% for SC/ST category) in Honours/Major papers. (In case Honours/Major is NOT specified/ mentioned in the mark-sheet for the BA Degree of an applicant, then he/she will NOT be eligible.) Category-II A Bachelors degree* with a minimum of three years of formal instruction with Honours/Major/Specialization in any nonliterature subject in Arts/Science/Commerce stream with at least 50% marks (45% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B/Sports category, 40% for SC/ST category) in Honours/Major/Specialization papers or a degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Science or any other recognised Bachelors degree*, with a minimum of three years of formal instruction. |

Comparative Literature |
For Category-I (those with Honours in any literature subject including Comparative Literature): Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the Admission Test. There will be a single paper for Category-I candidates. For Category-II (those with Honours in non-literature subjects in Arts/Science/Commerce or with a degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical or any other recognized Bachelor degree): Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the Admission Test. Category-II students will have to appear for two papers in general literature in the Admission Test. |
Linguistics, Economics, Political Science with International Relations, History, English | Selection will be made solely on the basis of Admission Test in the subject concerned. |
Philosophy and Sanskrit | Selection will be made on the basis of equal weight on the marks secured in the Honours papers and an Admission Test in the subject. |
Film Studies |
Category-I: Candidates with 3-Year Honours degree or Major in Film Studies having at least 50% marks in honours/major papers will be directly admitted.
Category-II: All the eligible candidates other than Category I will be selected on the basis of an Admission Test. |
