Revised Selection Procedure

For Economics
[5-year Integrated B.A. (Hons.) & M.A. course]
Marks obtained by the candidates in Mathematics shall be added to the aggregate marks calculated following the guideline laid down in aggregate marks calculation (as notified earlier) to arrive at the final score. Students shall be ranked according to their final score out of 500.
For History, Philosophy, Sanskrit & Sociology On the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the H.S. / Equivalent Examination.
For Comparative Literature On the basis of
  • 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
  • 50% weightage of marks obtained in best two(2) language subjects taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
For Bengali On the basis of
  • 50% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali & English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
  • 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
For English On the basis of
  • For those who appeared in the WBCHSE Board examinations and had English as their Second Language or English B and all Other Boards:
    50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination and 50% weightage of marks obtained in English in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
  • For those who appeared in the WBCHSE Board examinations and had English as their First Language or English A:
    50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination and 50% weightage of marks obtained in English in H.S./Equivalent Examination X 1.25.
Those who appeared in the WBCHSE Board examinations and had English as their First Language or English A are requested to scan their WBCHSE marksheets and email it to facultyarts@jadavpuruniversity.in by 12/7/2018 upto with the Application No in the subject of email. Failure to do so by the due date will result in English A/ English 1st language being treated at par with the marks in English in (A) above.

The Revised Selection Procedure for B.A. (Hons.) course in Political Science will be published on 06/07/2018.
The Provisional Merit Lists for admission to B.A. (Hons.) courses will be published on 19/07/2018 after 04:00 P.M.

Tie Breaking Rules

The following principle will be applied to determine merit position of the candidates who have secured same score:
Subject Rule
Bengali First Level: Marks of Bengali & English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Comparative Literature First Level: Marks of best two (2) language subjects taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Economics First Level: Marks of Mathematics at H.S./Equivalent examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): Marks of English at H.S./Equivalent examination.
English First Level: English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
History First Level: Marks of English at H.S./Equivalent examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): The marks obtained in best two subjects at H.S./Equivalent examination.
Philosophy First Level: Marks of Bengali & English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.

Second Level: The marks obtained in best two subjects at H.S./Equivalent examination.
Sanskrit First Level: Marks of Sanskrit at 10+2 level examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): The marks obtained in First Language & Second Language at 10+2 level examination.
Sociology First Level: Marks of English at H.S./Equivalent examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule): The marks obtained in best two subjects at H.S./Equivalent examination.
The tie breaking rule for B.A.(Hons.) course in Political Science will be published on 06/07/2018.
