Revised Selection Procedure

For Economics
[5-year Integrated B.A. (Hons.) & M.A. course]
Marks obtained by the candidates in Mathematics shall be added to the aggregate marks calculated following the guideline laid down in aggregate marks calculation (as notified earlier) to arrive at the final score. Students shall be ranked according to their final score out of 500.
For Sanskrit & Sociology On the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the H.S. / Equivalent Examination.
For Comparative Literature, History, Philosophy & Political Science On the basis of
1) 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S. / Equivalent Examination.
2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written admission test.
For Bengali On the basis of
1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali & English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
2) 50% weightage to the performance in a admission written test.
For English On the basis of
1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in English in H.S. / Equivalent Examination.
2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written admission test.

Tie Breaking Rules

The following principle will be applied to determine merit position of the candidates who have secured same score:
Subject Rule
Bengali First Level : Marks of written admission test

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Marks of Bengali obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Comparative Literature First Level : Marks of written admission test

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Economics First Level : Marks of Mathematics at H.S./Equivalent examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Marks of English at H.S./Equivalent examination.
English First Level : Marks of written admission test.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Marks of English obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
History First Level : Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Marks of written admission test.
Philosophy First Level : Marks of written admission test.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Political Science First Level : Marks of written admission test.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : Aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination.
Sanskrit First Level : Marks of Sanskrit at 10+2 level examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : The marks obtained in First Language & Second Language at 10+2 level examination.
Sociology First Level : Marks of English at H.S./Equivalent examination.

Second Level (In the event of tie in the first level tie-break rule) : The marks obtained in best two subjects at H.S./Equivalent examination.
