Online applications for admission to Post-Graduate/Master’s Courses under the different Faculties/Departments and Diploma & Certificate Courses under 40% category of the University of Kalyani Nadia District, West Bengal, are invited from eligible candidates for the Academic Session 2017-18.

    PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, ZOOLOGY, PHYSIOLOGY, BOTANY, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY & BIOTECHNOLOGY, BIOCHEMISTRY, BIOPHYSICS, GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, STATISTICS, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.

Payment of Application Fee

  • Application fee is Rs. 400/- for General candidates and OBC Rs. 200/- for SC/ST candidates, for PD Rs. 160/-
  • For Payment Candidates should go to https://www.onlinesbi.com and choose the option State Bank Collect.
  • They should proceed for payment after accepting the terms and conditions of State Bank Collect page. Fee collection charge by the Bank is additional.

Applicants should have a 4 (four) years Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts (BFA)Visual Arts (BVA)Course with specialization in any discipline of fine arts/Visual Arts from any UGC recognized University.
P.G. Diploma Course in Russian Language

Graduate in any discipline and has a one year Certificate Course in Russian Language.

General Information

  • As per West Bengal Govt. Rules, there shall be reservation of 60% seats in each Course for candidates who have Graduation with Honours in the respective subject from Home University (Kalyani University) and 40% seats will be for candidates from other Universities as well as candidates from home university. Candidates admitted from ‘60% category’ will not be allowed to appear for the admission test in ‘40% category’.
  • ‘Students of the University of Kalyani’ mean those candidates who have their qualifying degree (B.A./B.Sc. Honours etc.) from the University of Kalyani and have their latest registration under the University of Kalyani and have not been migrated.
  • Candidates in the 40% and applicants for courses without 60-40 division shall have to appear for Admission Test conducted by the Kalyani University.
  • The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the W.B. Govt. rules.

Merit List Preparation Criteria

  • Merit List for 60% category (Home University) will be based on marks obtained in the Honours subject (Part 1+Part 2+Part 3) only. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
  • Merit List for 40% ( Other University + Home University applicants who fail to get admission from the 60% merit list) & for Courses without 60-40 category, will be based on 50% marks obtained in the in the Honours subject ( Part 1+Part 2+Part 3) +50% marks obtained in the Admission Test. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
  • 2% will be deducted from the total percentage obtained in the qualifying examination (B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. Honours) for all candidates having passed their qualifying examination in 2013-14, 2014 –15,and 2015-2016 academic sessions.
  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in academic sessions before 2012-13 are not eligible to apply.
  • Admission Test will be conducted for PG courses (Subject Codes 01-29) and M.F.A. for applicants from other Universities as well as applicants of Home University who do not secure admission in the Home University Category (60%).
  • For M.F.A. merit will be prepared based on:
    • Written test (objective) consisting of 50 marks.
    • Interview and evaluation of original works (that are to be shown by the candidate) along with portfolio (marks 50).
