  • Merit List for 60% category (Home University) will be based on marks obtained in the Honours subject (Part 1 + Part 2 + Part 3) only. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
  • Merit List for 40% (Other University + Home University applicants who fail to get admission from the 60% merit list) & for Programme without 60-40 category, will be based on percentage of marks obtained in Honours Subject (Part-I + Part-II + Part-III) and percentage of marks obtained in the Admission Test, giving equal weightage. Admission test will be of 100 marks, 50 MCQ, 2 marks each. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
  • For all the Post-Graduate programme one seat is reserved for the candidates applying under “SPORTS QUOTA”. Such candidates should apply in a prescribed format, available in the Admission Section. The seat of Sports Quota will be allotted from the available seats of the particular category in which the selected candidate belongs to.
  • If an applicant belongs to "SPORTS QUOTA" then such candidates should apply in a prescribed format, available in the Admission Section.
  • 2% will be deducted from the total percentage obtained in the qualifying examination (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours) for all candidates having passed their qualifying examination (Part-III Hons.) in the year 2015, 2016 & 2017.
  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in or before 2014 are not eligible to apply.
Admission Test will be conducted for PG Program for applicants from other Universities as well as applicants of Home University who do not secure admission in the Home University Category (60%).
  • As per West Bengal Govt. Rules, there shall be reservation of 60% seats in each Course for candidates who have Graduation with Honours in the respective subject from Home University (Kalyani University) and 40% seats will be for candidates from other Universities as well as candidates from home university. Candidates admitted from ‘60% category’ will not be allowed to appear for the admission test in concerned subject in ‘40% category’.
  • Students of the University of Kalyani’ mean those candidates who have their qualifying degree (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Honours etc.) from the University of Kalyani and have their latest registration under the University of Kalyani and have not been migrated.
  • Candidates in the 40% category and applicants for courses without 60-40 division shall have to appear for Admission Test conducted by the Kalyani University.
  • The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the W.B. Govt. rules.

Steps of Online Application for Post-graduate and other courses (2018-19)

Filling the Application Form

  • Application for Online Admission starts from 15th June, 2018 at 11:30 am and closes on 25th July, 2018 at 10.00 pm. (60% Category) & 06th july 2018 for (40% Category& where 60-40% category not applicable)
  • Applicant should visit the home page of the Kalyani University Website & from there enter through the "Online Application" link
  • The Application Form Submission is a 2 step process.
  • Applicant should fill the online form giving academic details (Step - 1) and personal details (Step - 2).
  • Applicants for M.Lib.I.Sc. (Master of Library and Information Science) Course must follow the instructions given below :
    • Students with Arts (B.A-Hons) degree should select Arts from Subject drop down menu
    • Students with Science and Technology degrees (B.Sc-Hons, B. Tech etc) should select Science from Subject drop down menu
    • Students with Commerce (B.Com, BBA, MBA etc) degree should select Commerce from Subject drop down menu
  • The fields marked with a * are mandatory.
  • Applicant should upload scanned photograph and signature file. The files must be of type jpeg or jpg and the size of photograph and signature must be within 110 K.B. and 50 K.B.
  • Please provide CAPTCHA for verification and check the checkbox to accept the declaration.
  • After providing all mandatory details click on "Submit" to submit the application.
  • An Application I.D. will be created & details will be displayed on the screen.
  • NOTE: Modification of the Application form is permitted till the payment verification. If the payment is verified, applicant can no longer modify the application form further. So, before making payment, Applicant should ensure that all information is provided and is true.
  • Applicants need to note down the Application I.D correctly
  • Verification for payments will be done after 48 hours. Applicants can print their Application Receipt after verification.
  • Each applicant will be allowed to fill in a maximum of 5 (five) PG Courses in separate application forms, but has to pay Application Fee, as applicable, for each of the applications made.

Depositing the Payment

  • Applicants should visit the https://www.onlinesbi.com/ Link for payment.
  • Applicant should select 'SBI Bank Collect' from the menu.
  • On the 'SBI Bank Collect' page, the Applicant should click the Check Box at the end of the Disclaimer Clause to proceed for payment ( I have read and accepted the terms and conditions stated above).
  • In the next page, the applicant should select 'State of Corporate/Institution' (West Bengal) and 'Type of Corporate/Institution' (Educational Institutions) from the drop down Menu and click GO.
  • Next the Applicant should select from Educational Institutions name 'University of Kalyani A/C SBC' from the drop down Menu and click Submit.
  • In the next page the Applicant should select the Payment Category either General or SC/ST. Please note that all OBC Applicants should select the General Category.
  • In the next page the Applicant is required to provide the payment details such as 'Application I.D.' Name of the Applicant' 'Date of Birth' etc. and click submit.
  • After confirmation of the payment details, the Applicant can make payment through Net Banking/Card Payment/Other Payment modes.
  • In the other payment mode, the applicant can download and print the Pre-Acknowledgement payment challan and make the payment through any SBI Branch.
  • Please note the Bank Charges for each payment mode is different.
  • The online application will not be complete without the payment. Payment should be before 4:00 P.M. (by Cash) and 10:00 P.M. (online mode) on 06th July, 2018.
