Online applications are invited from eligible Honours graduate candidates for admission to following regular full time PG Courses (duration- 2 years or 4 Semesters) for the session 2017-2018. Only completed online application will be considered.

Online application can be made from 04.7.2017 to 15.07.2017.

M.Sc. in Mathematics is also conducted at the J. K. College centre, Purulia on self financing basis and admission of candidates will be made through central counseling by the University.

Eligibility

Graduates with 03 year Honours/major in relevant subject who have completed their graduation in the year 2017 & 2016 can apply.

For M.A. in Anthropology & Tribal Studies : 03 year Hons graduates in Sociology, History, Anthropology, Political Science, Philosophy, Geography, Economics, Zoology & Botany may also apply.

For M.A. in Sociology : 03 year Hons graduates in Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy may also apply.

For M.A. in Economics : 03 year Hons graduates in Economics, Mathematics & Statistics may also apply.

For OTHER courses : Graduates with Hons/Major in the subject of study.

Intake Capacity

60% Seats are reserved for Home University category (for the students of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University) and 40% seats are reserved for Other university category (for the students of other Universities). Not selected candidates from Home University Category will also be considered in other university category.

Fees

• Application Fee :
  UR/OBC-A/OBC-B Category Rs. 100/-
  SC/ST/PH Category Rs. 70/-
  Bank charge or Online payment charge will be applicable in addition to the application fee.
  
  Candidates can deposit application fee in following ways
  • "Online Mode" - in the admission portal through debit card/credit card/net banking or
  • "Offline Mode" - in IDBI Bank, downloading and printing online generated bank challan. In both the cases the applicants need to pay additional bank charges/online payment charge as applicable in addition to the application fee. The application Fee, once deposited, is non-refundable.

Selection Process

Home University Category: Selection will be made strictly in order of merit by taking into consideration the marks of Honours / Major subject (UG).

Other University Category: Selection will be made in order of merit. Merit list will be prepared by considering 50% of entrance test’s marks & 50% of Hons subjects marks.

In case of tie of Grade point, following will be considered.

• % of total marks of Graduation level
• If still tie continues then % of total marks (best of five) of 10+2 level

Verification of all original documents will be made at the time of counseling and only after document verification, she/he will be recommended for admission. If any short-listed candidate fails to produce her/his all original documents at the time of counseling, her/his candidature will be cancelled.

Reservation of seats will be as per rules of West Bengal Government.

• ID card, issued by Govt. authority.
• Proof of age: Admit or Certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination.
• All Undergraduate Mark-sheets.
• Certificate of Reserve category (if applicable) : SC/SC/OBC/PH certificate issued by Govt. authority.
• Person With Disability Certificate(if applicable) : PH certificate.
