    Candidates are required to go through the Information Bulletin carefully before
    attempting for online application.


    Once an application is received, it will be construed that the candidate agrees to all
    terms and conditions, rules and regulations stipulated in the Information Bulletin and
    notices published by the Board for the said purpose.

    Any application not in compliance with the conditions specified in the
    Information Bulletin is liable to be rejected.
    1. Application for JESNU-2018 has to be done online only. There is no printed application form.
    2. Ensure that you are filling genuine application form available online at www.wbjeeb.in.
    3. It is essential to have a unique mobile number and a unique email ID.
    All future communications will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. WBJEEB will not be responsible for non-receipt of any communication by the candidates if the mobile number and/or the email ID are wrong/non-existing/changed.
    4. Once the registration details i.e. candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID are entered and submitted, they cannot be changed/modified/edited under normal circumstances.
    Also the information must match exactly with the school admit cards, mark sheets, certificates, photo identity cards, caste/category certificates etc. which a candidate has to produce to enter the examination hall, during counselling, during admission and during registration with the University.
    In case of any unfortunate mistake committed by the candidate in filling up the online application form, he/she may visit the Board’s office with original documents for correction, but within the last date of online application.
    5. Do not attempt to make any duplicate application.
    6. Do not share your application number, pass word, security question/answer with anyone.
    7. Upload scanned copy of photograph and signature as per the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin.
    8. If any candidate receives any SMS/email regarding discrepancy in the photograph/signature uploaded by him/her, take corrective action immediately within one day.
    9. The amount of application fees to be paid for appearing in the JESNU-2018 is Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable. The Examination Fees can be paid by ‘Net Banking’ / ‘Debit Card’ / ‘Credit Card’.
    Payment status is updated online and hence should show ‘OK’ immediately after the payment. But in some rare cases it may be delayed due to the Bank’s network delay/failure or transaction failure at the Electronic Payment Gateway (EPG). If the payment status does not show ‘OK’ immediately after making the payment then the candidate has to make payment once again.
    Do not wait for the last day to make fee payment in order to avoid payment failure by Bank or EPG.
    10. Keep copies of confirmation page, admit card in safe custody. It is not possible to generate any duplicate copy.
    11. The Information Bulletin for JESNU-2018 has been prepared following the guidelines of Sister Nivedita University (SNU). The candidates are requested to follow the SNU website (www.snuniv.ac.in) on regular basis for other information.

Syllabus of Examination: The tests will be based on the 10th and 12th standard syllabi of various recognised boards/councils.

Schedule of JESNU-2018: 17th June (Sunday), 11:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M.
No further examination shall be held under any circumstances for those who will be unable to appear on the above scheduled date and time.

Pattern of Question Papers:
The paper will have 7 (seven) different modules, namely
  • Basic English
  • Basic Mathematics
  • General Knowledge/Awareness
  • Social Science
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Physical Science
  • Life Science
A candidate has to answer any 5 (five) modules. If a candidate attempts more than five modules then his/her score in the best five modules will be considered for ranking.
For some courses, some modules are compulsory as given in the table below.

If a candidate does not attempt the compulsory module/s or if he/she attempts more than five modules and the compulsory module/s is not in the best five modules by score, he/she will not be considered for admission in the respective programme.

For other courses, there is no such compulsory module to be attempted.

The question paper will be in English only.

All questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions. Each module will have 10 questions of 2 marks each. A candidate needs to attempt any five modules. Total marks for the examination will be 100 and time allotted will be 90 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria for Application

  • Citizenship: There is no restriction of nationality.
  • Age: There is no upper or lower age limit.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

  • Candidates must have passed OR appeared (in 2018) in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal or any equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must pass any of the aforementioned examinations, with at least five recognized subjects (full marks not less than 100), including English language.
  • Candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications, must have at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level, with English in either of the two levels.
  • The candidate must secure a minimum aggregate percentage score as per the following table in his/her qualifying examination in 12th standard.
