The B.Tech programme is of 4 years duration.

Master of Technology

The University offers Regular Master progammmes in the following disciplines:

  • M.Tech(Information Security Management)

  • M.Tech(VLSI Design)

The duration of the course is 2 years for regular programmes.
Regular classes shall be held on Monday to friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Student strength in every programme is 30 in each academic year.


Master of Computer Applications

Department of IT has introduced a postgraduate MCA programme from the Academic session 2011-2012 with an annual intake of 60 students.

The MCA course helps an individual to grab the request amount of knowledge both technical and academic that after 3 yrs an outgoing MCA post-graduate student is ready to face any challenge in the industry.

The student strength is 60 in each year.


Ph.D.

Research is important for both the economic and social development of a nation. IGDTUWW has a mission to promote high quality scientific research in the fields of engineering, science and technology, and related areas. IGDTUWW offers admission to only female candidates in the Ph.D program commencing from August, 2015. The program is designed to encourage research in the frontier areas of science and technology and its applications to produce new technologies for future. The program provides the candidates an enriching research experience enabling them to grow in their professional and academic career. It also helps the students to develop an inquisitive and pragmatic approach blended with sensitivity to the needs of the society and industry.

The Ph.D Program is open only for female candidates.

B.Tech (CSE) 60 seats in each Branch

Total seats: 240
Merit of the All India Overall Rank prepared by CBSE giving 40% weightage (suitably normalized) to class XII (or equivalent examination) or other qualifying examination marks and 60% to the performance in JEE Main Examination (Paper-1). 85% seats will be reserved for Delhi candidates.

B.Arch (5 years Duration) 40 seats Candidate shall be eligible for admission to the First Year of the Bachelor Degree Programme in Architecture (B. Arch.) if they have obtained at least 50% marks in  aggregate, with Mathematics as a subject in the Class 12th qualifying examination and qualifies the JEE (Main) – 2015 (Paper – 2) examination.  The candidate must have been declared eligible for Central Counseling by the CBSE. For more details regarding admission to B.Arch. Programme applicants may refer to the JAC website. 85% seats will be reserved for Delhi candidates.
M. Tech. (Full Time)- 2 years duration

ECE M. Tech. (ECE) Part Time – 3 years duration. (Weekend Program for working women) 40 Seats Merit based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Candidate should also have at least one year of professional/teaching experience in the respective field after completing the qualifying examination as on 31.07.2015. Preference would be given to the candidates having valid GATE score.
ECE Lateral Entry for M. Tech. (ECE) Part Time – 2 years duration 20 Seats NIELIT, DOEACC ‘C’ level qualification with BSc/BCA/MCA would be allowed for lateral entry in the second year of M.Tech ECE part time. Candidate should also have at least one year of professional/teaching experience in the respective field after completing the qualifying examination as on 31.07.2015.
MCA -3 years Duration
Master of Computer Application offered by Department of Information Technology 60 Seats On the basis of the merit of the rank secured by candidates in the entrance examination conducted by NITs (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test -NIMCET 2015).

    The main objective of the opening of the university dispensary was to provide primary health care mainly in the form of first aid to the university students.

    The guest house within the campus has limited accomdation for the staying purpose of individuals visiting the campus. The rooms are comfortable with all modern facilities available within.

    The university has a common room for girls, equipped with fitness equipments, yoga facility and indoor games.

    The Hostel especially in University plays a very significant role in pursuing academic, cultural and creational activities. Hostel is a home to young girls who are passionate about their desires and aspire to reach beyond the horizons. The hostel provides a safe, secure and clean environment for the girls to grow, learn and mature up in the society away from their own homes. The hostel caters to the needs of young ladies turning into mature responsible adults. It provides an atmosphere for girls to study, do well in their academics and focus on their career and future.

    IGDTUW has introduced new sports and recreation facilities. Students launched their own Sports club in 2009 as an endeavor to refresh minds of students and inculcate spirit of sportsmanship among them.

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) has been upgraded from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology in May 2013 vide Delhi State Legislature Act 9, 2012, as a non-affiliating teaching and research University at Delhi to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation and extension work in emerging areas of professional education among women, with focus on engineering, technology, applied sciences, management and its allied areas with the objective to achieve excellence in these and related fields.

Erstwhile Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) was established in 1998 by Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Govt of N.C.T of Delhi as the first engineering college for women only. From 2002- 2013, the college remained the first and only constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

The upgradation of IGIT, already a prestigious college of north India, to University has enabled it to function even more efficiently as a teaching and research centre in various branches of engineering, promoting advancement and dissemination of knowledge and learning among women of the country and to meet the requirement of technically skilled women workforce. The objective of the University is to foster industry relevant research and innovations and empower the women of our country through value based higher education making them employable, self reliant, responsible citizen of the country with concern for environment and society.
