Undergraduate Courses Eligibility Criteria

• For Admission : A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic / Vocations Stream) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu; or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto (like PUC) by the Syndicate, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed therefore.
  
  Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with Commerce/Accountancy as one of the subjects of study shall be given preference in admission to B.Com. Degree Programme.
  
  Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with Commerce / Accountancy / Management / Economics / Banking / Logic as one of the courses of study shall be given preference in admission to B.A. Co-operation.
  
  Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study shall be given preference in admission to B.C.A. programme.
• For the Degree : The candidates shall have subsequently undergone the prescribed course of study in a college affiliated to this University for a period of not less than three academic years, passed the examinations prescribed and fulfilled such conditions as have been prescribed thereof.

Infrastructure Facilities

• The college has well designed blocks, top laid roads with sprawling lawns and green tress.
• A fully air- conditioned mini auditorium is provided to conduct official meetings, symposiums and workshops.
• A main auditorium is available with a seating capacity of 1000 along with changing rooms and storage rooms.
• A common furnished canteen is made available for the students and staff to refresh themselves apart from class hours.
• A common room is allocated separately for girls as rest room.
• One Rupee Coin Phones are available for communication purpose.
• Medical facilities are made available for the students during college hours. A medical staff is appointed to attend to the ailment of the students.
• Indian bank facility is made available in the campus for the benefit of the staff and students.
• A Student – Store is run by the students during break time to cater to the needs of the students.
• Tight security is provided in the campus throughout the day.
• A fleet of 12 buses and 3 mahindra vans is operated connecting all parts of the city for the convenience of the staff and students
• A well managed Hostel provides the best atmosphere to hostellers.

Hostel

A well-managed hostel is sure to prove a blessing for those who are lucky enough to live in it.

Hostel is well equipped with all facilities. Hostel has 62 rooms (single, double beds ) and can accommodate 500 students. There is dining hall with modern kitchen facilities. Television room, Prayer Hall, Meeting Hall, Play Ground, Public address system and Garden are the other facilities provided in the hostel. Spacious rooms with windows give them a feeling of comfort.

Library

The library was started along with the institution in the year 2000 with minimum volumes of books. Now the collection has risen to over 13,135 and over 62 periodicals. The library has been functioning at St.joseph’s block since 2002.

Transport Facility

There are 18 buses, which ply to different areas in and around Thanjavur and to near by villages.

Counselling Cell

Curricular and Co – Curricular activities have been tremendously expanded during past few years. To provide education alone is not the work of our college. We shape the students by giving them counseling at needed situations.

Canteen

A Canteen in the campus provides hygenic, nutritious and tasty snacks and lunch.

Sports & Games

With a view to ensure a 'sound mind in a sound body', the students are given opportunity to identify their talents in various sports and games enhancing their chances of a healthy life.

Bonsecours College for Women is the fruit of 155 year long committed service of the Bon Secours Congregation in the feild of education. Their rich experience and efforts culminated in the establishment of Bonsecours College for Women in the year 2002. Within the span of twelve year, the college has scaled greater heights in term of offering value based education, students discipline, University Ranks, placements and above all a revolution in bringing the rural girls out of their shells to the portals of the college.
