Admission Procedure:
Online & Offline registration are available for all the Degree Programs. Applicants may choose online submission of Application Forms through oue college website www.wcc.edu.in (or) purchase the Application Forms from the Admission Centre on campus. Filled in applications can be posted (or) submitted at the Admission Center.
Incomplete applications will be rejected.
Selected candidates will be informed by mail and the list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed on the college website & notice Board.
College fees should be paid by cash / Demand Draft at the Admission Center.
Withdrawl : Students who intend to discontinue from the college should submit a requisition letter from their parents to the Principal. Transfer Certificate will be issued only after all dues are settled. Original Transfer Certificate submitted at the time of admission will not be returned under any circumstances.
Admission Status
List of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed in our college notice board and website. Email notification will be sent to only those who are provisionally selected. Students who receive a provisional admission notice should report on the date specified.
The following documents should be submitted along with the fees specified in the admission notice.
- Original Statement of Marks along with two attested copies.
- Original Transfer and Conduct Certificates.
- Original Medical Certificate.
- Original Community Certificate along with three attested copies.
- Salary certificate of Parents.

Original Transfer Certificate produced at the time of admission will not be returned under any circumstances.
* Eligibility Certificate issued by the University of Madras should be produced by candidates who have passed the following examinations.
- Higher Secondary Examination of Tamilnadu Government (Private Study)
- CBSE under the Open School System (Private Candidates)
- Higher Secondary or equivalent examination conducted by all other State Boards in India/Abroad.
- All Degree (UG/PG) examinations conducted by any other University in India / Abroad.
Chapel
The college Chapel is a gift by an unknown American friend. It was built in 1923 to a design by a Quaker architect Reginald Dann & adorned with a cross within designed by the Madras School of Arts & Crafts. It is known to have more doors than walls that are not plastered. This is the Geometric center of our campus and in this live center we gather every morning for devotion and prayer before we begin the day.

Library
The college library is housed in a spacious building which provides a congenial atmosphere for quiet reading. The large number of books, journal and magazines available here provide sufficient reading material on the subjects. The fully automated library services provide quick access to information. Photocopying and Internet access facilities are provided for student at a nominal fee. Students have access to e-journals and e-books through EBSCOHOST, Questia.com and INFLIBNET.
Telephone Booth and Xerox Centre
Efficient services in this centre include photocopying, DTP, lamination, binding and fax and phone facilities.
Hostels
The college has Six Residential Halls with limited accommodation. The ambience and the facilities provide students with ample opportunities to exel in academics and extra-curricular activities. The Hostel fosters communiti living enabling residents to expirence varied cultures and ethnic traditions.
Bank
The Indian Overseas Bank operates an extension counter on campus (housed in Rivett block) offering banking services to faculty and students.
Common Room
A place for students to relax in during their free time. Locker facilities are provided.
Auditorium
This stately building with a seating capacity of 1000 was constructed in 1978. Designated with excellent stage facilities and acoustics, the auditorium is the venue of College Plays, Cultural events, weekly assemblies and other special programmes of the college community.
Play Ground
Extensive grounds facilitate sports activities ranging from basketball to track events.
Scholarship Facilities
Government Scholarship for BC / MBC / SC / ST communities are provided. Management Scholarship are available on merit-cum-mean basis. Children of missionaries / pastors / evangelist will be given special consideration.

Women’s Christian College started functioning on 7th July 1915 with 41 students and 7 members of Faculty in a rented building named ‘Hyde Park’. On 5th July 1916 the College moved to its own campus of 19 acres attached to an imposing building called ‘Doveton House’ on the banks of the Cooum in Nungambakkam.The College from its inception provided a training ground for formal and informal relations between Staff and Students through study, cultural activities, debates, games and religious observance. At present, the College has a strength of around 3224 students and 180 Faculty members and is a government aided minority institution.
In the very first week the College Motto "Lighted to Lighten", a College flower – Sunflower, the College crest and the College song were chosen. Later, the students composed the Alma Mater and set it to the tune of Finlandia by the famous composer Sibelius.
With the tremendous progress achieved through the years the College planned for autonomy and was granted the same by the University Grants Commission. Since 1982 the College has been functioning as an autonomous institution affiliated to the University of Madras. In the year 1994 the College was selected by the University Grants Commission to offer Vocational Training Courses in Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology in the Botany and Zoology Departments respectively at the undergraduate level. In 2001 the college began the B.Sc. Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics (Vocational Stream) course. The College began self-financing courses since 1997 and now offers M.A. (Communication), M.A. (Human Resource Management), M.Sc.(Physics with specialisation in electronics), B.Com, B.B.A. and B.C.A., B.A. Corporate Economics, B.Sc. Visual Communication, M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Information Technology and M.Sc. Computer Science & Technology.
Almost from the beginning, the College has had ties with similar institutions both in India and abroad. In the U.S.A. Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts has adopted this College as its sister College and from time to time has sent gifts of both money and books. In fact, as a gesture of gratitude one of the hostels in WCC has been named as the Mount Holyoke hostel and the Inter-class cultural festival is known as the Mount Holyoke culturals.
