A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory. Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for admission to the ACJ-Bloomberg Business and Financial Journalism programme and the ACJ Fully Integrated Journalism programme.

Candidates who are yet to write their undergraduate degree examination (because of the delay due to the lockdown) as well as those awaiting the results of their undergraduate examination are also eligible to apply.

Enrolled students should provide their mark sheet or degree certificate to the Registrar ideally within the first week of commencement of classes. However, since the undergraduate exam results are likely to be delayed, more time may be given for submission of the certificates. All students awaiting their examination results should provide their degree certificate latest by the end of March 2022.

The application form may either be submitted ONLINE or DOWNLOADED and completed. Application whether online or hard copy will need to be sent along with an application fee of Rs. 2360/- (inclusive of GST @ 18%). Candidates applying for both programmes need to pay only a consolidated processing fee of Rs. 3540/- (inclusive of GST @ 18%). The fee can be remitted as an online transfer or sent as a Demand Draft in favour of "Media Development Foundation", payable at Chennai. Please ensure that the full name, email id and mobile number of the applicant accompany the payment.

In the case of online transfer the applicant will be directed to the Online Payment gateway once the form is completely filled. The applicant is requested to keep Credit Card/ Debit card/ Net Banking details ready for making the payment. The applicant using the payment gateway service is required to pay the convenience fee as prescribed by the service.

SC/ST applicants are exempt from the application fee on production of their community certificates.

Last date for receiving applications is April 26, 2021.

Application Forms will be processed only if they are complete in all respects and on receipt of the application fee.

Entrance Examination & Interview
After a careful assessment of applications, shortlisted candidates will be required to take an online entrance examination. Candidates can take the examination individually in their homes or at any place where they have access to a computer with internet facility.

The examination will be held online in real time on Sunday May 16, 2021 between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 Noon.

The candidates will receive an email between May 12 and May 14, 2021 detailing the process of connecting online for the examination on May 16, 2021.

The online examination will be followed by an online interview between Thursday May 20 and Saturday May 22, 2021. Candidates will be individually informed in advance about the date and time of the online interview.

Admission results will be intimated to successful students individually by email by May 24, 2021.

The tuition fee for the ACJ postgraduate diploma programme, is INR 4,60,200/- inclusive of GST @ 18%. Candidates admitted to the programme should lock in their seats within 7 days with an advance payment of INR 1,00,000/- The balance amount of INR 3,60,200/- is to be paid in two equal installments, according to the following schedule.

The fees are to be paid in two equal installments, according to the following schedule:

• First installment of INR 1,80,100/- on or before June 9, 2021.
• Final installment of INR 1,80,100/- on or before June 16, 2021.

Residential Accommodation
Accommodation for students in the programme on room sharing basis is available on the college campus or in the Residential Annexe which is within easy distance of the college in Kasturba Nagar adjacent to the MRTS station. The allotment of residence to students opting for it will be decided by the college.

Residential accommodation on the Campus for the period (July 2021 to April 2022) will cost INR 88,500/- inclusive of GST @ 18%.

Accommodation at the Annexe for the period (July 2021 to April 2022) will cost INR 1,29,800/- inclusive of GST @ 18%.

The cost of food for the year will be INR 88,500/- inclusive of GST @ 18%.

Every student has to pay a caution deposit of INR 10,000/-, which will be returned, less deductions for liabilities if any, at the end of the year.

Students who opt for accommodation should send an advance of INR 50,000/- with their first installment of tuition fees. Accommodation will be offered on a first-come- first-served basis. The balance, inclusive of caution, deposit should be paid on or before June 16, 2021.

Please note that no request for refund of fees will be entertained. Once a candidate is admitted the seat allotted to him or her stands filled. Please note that fees once paid will not be refunded even if the candidate does not join the course.

Merit-cum-means
The ACJ offers scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis to students seeking and qualifying for them. It must be indicated clearly in the application if the student requires a scholarship. The full and partial scholarships cover tuition fees and, in special cases, living expenses. Please submit proof of family income as stated in the application form.

SC/ST Scholarship
Candidates applying for SC/ST scholarships should produce community certificate and proof of annual family income as stated in the application form.

SAF Scholarship
The South Asia Foundation (SAF) offers scholarships for study at the ACJ to students from the eight SAARC countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship
The ‘Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship’ (JLN Scholarships) is instituted at the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) by The Associated Journals Limited (AJL).
The scholarship covers the tuition fees for selected students pursuing their Postgraduate Diploma programme. The selection will be on a merit-cum-means basis.
