Admission Criteria for B.A./B.Sc. Under Graduate Courses for 2022-2023
Subject	Criteria
Bengali	Minimum 55% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Bengali. or 55% marksin Bengali.
English	Minimum 55% marks in aggregate and 65% marks in English. or 70% marks in English.
History	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in History. or if History is not a subject in 10+2 Examination, 50% marks in Bengali or English.
Political Science	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Political Science. or 55% marksin Political Science.
Philosophy	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Philosophy. or 55% marksin Philosophy.
Sanskrit	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Sanskrit. or 55% marksin Sanskrit.
Economics	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Mathematics or 55% marks in Economics and 45% marks in Mathematics
IFF [Industrial Fish and Fisheries]	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Biology and passed in Chemistry. or 60% marksin Biology and passed in Chemistry.
Botany	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Biology and passed in Chemistry. or 60% marksin Biology and passed in Chemistry.

Physics	Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in Physics and 45% marks in Mathematics.
B.A. - General	30% marksin aggregate.
B.Sc. - General	30% marksin aggregate.

Vocational Courses Allowed for admission

Subject passed in the previous qualifying examination	Subject to be taken in 1st semester
Vocational Engineering & Technology passed with Mathematics	B.A. (Genl.), B.Sc. (Genl.)
Vocational Agriculture	B.A. (Genl.), B.Sc. (Genl.)
Vocational Business & Commerce	B.A. (Genl.)
Vocational Home Science	B.A. (Genl.)

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training in subjects other than specified as above shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (General) 1st year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only.
However, no candidate shall be allowed admission after a lapse of more than 4 years from the year of passing the previous examination.
Explanation: The year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating four years from the year of passing the previous qualifying Examination.
