MCA - Master of Computer Applications

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is of three years duration consisting of six semesters. This course is intended to train graduates in Engineering, Science or Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects in the development and use of software for different applications. The major thrust is on providing the students a sound background in computing, business functions and mathematics relevant to information technology.

Eligibility Criteria

MCA - Master of Computer Applications

• B.Tech/ BCA/ B.Sc/ B.Com. Degree from University of Kerala (or any other degree accepted as equivalent thereto by the University of Kerala) with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects with not less than 50% marks excluding languages in the qualifying examination
• Subject to the regulation relating to the prescribed minimum of the respective qualifying examination, minimum marks for admission to the courses of studies shall be 35% in the case of candidates belonging to SC / ST.
• Candidates belonging to backward classes shall be given a relaxation of 2% marks from the prescribed minimum for admission.
• Relaxation of 5% marks from the prescribed minimum shall be allowed in the case of physically handicapped persons determined as such by applying internationally accepted norms.

It is with this unique background that the Sree Narayana Educational Society has decided to step in to the Technical Education field. Because of the realistic approach by the present Government to the educational needs of the state in response to the national & international demands and the positive aspects of Kerala, our state is going to be the center of activities for international business entrepreneurs. It is with this vision that the organizers have launched the Sree Narayana Institute of Technology in 2003.

The academic programme is offered as per the syllabi of the University of Kerala. Special efforts are taken to inculcate professonal and ethical values among the students to enable them to cope with the global demands. Personality development programmes, training for improving communication skills and special projects to apply the knowledge gained from the subjects learned are being effectively implemented. Regular invited Lectures by experts from the industry will be arranged to update the knowledge level of the students and to expose them to the current needs of the industry in tune with the latest technical developments.
