Notice for Postgraduate Admission 2018-2019

IN EDUCATION AND GEOGRAPHY

Applications are invited from Indians as well as Foreign Nationals for admission in Postgraduate courses in Education and Geography, East Calcutta Girls’ College.

Eligibility:-

Postgraduate in Education	Postgraduate in Geography
M.A.	M.A./M.Sc.
B.A. WITH HONOURS	B.A/ B.Sc. WITH HONOURS
HONOURS IN ANY SUBJECT WITH M.A./M.Sc. & B.Ed.

♦ Students who have already passed with Honours or appeared examination with Education Honours and Geography Honours in 2018 may apply and secure provisional admission for the session 2018-2019 if selected.

♦ Students who have completed their graduation in 2016 and 2017 may also apply.

♦ Students from other Universities will have to appear in an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the college.

♦ For Postgraduation in Education, students with Honours in any subject with M.A./M.Sc. and B.Ed. may also apply.

♦ The cutoff marks for admission would be: 45% in Honours for General category and 40% for SC, ST and OBC categories.

♦ Candidates passing Honours /Major course in Arts and Science in undergraduate degree level from Indira Gandhi National Open University/Netaji Subhas Open University and the Distance Education Programmes of other universities in West Bengal are also eligible for admission.

Admission Rules:-

♦ Three years Honours graduate of the current and previous two years i.e. not before 2016 in the system (10+2+3) from WBSU.

♦ Honours graduates of the current and previous two years from other states should have passed equivalent courses from UGC recognized University/Institute in India.

♦ Marksheets (Part I, Part II & Part III) in original should be shown during admission if selected.

♦ A copy of Aadhaar card is to be uploaded in the prescribed format.

♦ At the time of counseling and admission, students will appear with the printed copy of the application form and other original and photocopies of the documents.

♦ Allocation of seats in the Postgraduate course will be in the ratio 60:40 (i.e. 60% for WBSU students [Category-A] and 40% for other universities and those WBSU students who do not secure their position in the WBSU merit lists [Category B]).

♦ Admission test will be conducted for students of Category-B only

♦ Students who will appear in the admission test will carry the Application Form and Photo Identity Proof.

Admission Procedure:-

♦ The application form is to be filled up online (www.ecgcollege.org ).

♦ The application form, duly filled in, is to be submitted online.

♦ A print out of the application form is to be taken for submission of fees through online payment or generate a challan for bank payment.

♦ Admission test will be conducted for students of Category-B only.

♦ Merit list will be published in the college website.

1st Merit List for WBSU students	18th June, 2018
