The Union Cabinet has approved 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas in India. One lakh students to get benefits.
At present, there are over 12,000 Kendra Vidyalayas across the country and three abroad.
The Union Cabinet has approved 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas with a focus on areas that are hotbeds of left-wing extremism and where there is a high concentration of Central Reserve Police Force or railway employees. Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said that nearly one lakh students will benefit from the decision and it will create employment opportunities also.
According to KV officials, Rs. 1,579.9 crores
will be spent in the next five years on construction and staff salary for the 50 new KVs.
