5 School teachers arrested in Odisha for Matric paper leak case.
The Nuapada police has arrested five school teachers for a recent paper leak case of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha in which the MIL question paper went viral on social media about an hour after the distribution on 22 February, 2019.
The BSE, Odisha has also suspended four centre superintendents and four invigilators of the matric examination for their role in spreading images of question papers on social media.
The incident took place on the first day of the High School Certificate (HSC) exam conducted by BSE, Odisha. The Odia question paper went viral on social media platforms in Nuapada and Dhenkanal districts.
Actions taken by the Board:
As per PTI, "FIRs against nine school teachers, who were engaged as centre superintendents or examination invigilators, had been registered at different police stations in Koraput, Nuapada and Dhenkanal districts for their mischievous role during the examinations that began on Friday," said Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, Controller of Examination.
BSE has also suspended four centre superintendents and four invigilators of the matriculation examination for their role in spreading images of question papers on social media.
According to the board's president Jahan Ara Begum, the incident cannot be labelled as question paper leak as the examinees only saw the images after the examination got over.
