  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a meeting with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and other senior officials on the CBSE Board Exams 2021.
  • During the meeting, PM Modi reiterated that the well-being of the students has to be the top priority for the Government. He also stated that the Centre would keep in mind the best interests of the students and ensure that their health is taken care of at the same time their academic interests are not harmed.

  • Here's what CBSE Class 10th, 12th students who are now relieved to hear the decision on CBSE Board Exams 2021 have to say:
  • “I don't think postponing the board exams is a good idea, the government could have figured out a way to conduct the exams on the given dates. The uncertainty of Covid-19 would still persist even when the exams are postponed.”
  • “It will create a lot of confusion in our minds, whether to study for board exams or for entrance exams, and it will also break the rythm of studying” said Utkarsh Gupta, a Class 12 student.
  • Commenting on the decision to cancelling the CBSE Class 10 board exam, Pranjal Chaturvedi of class 10 said, “It has been a long time since I had ever heard good news which would satisfy my inner self. I can't wait to get promoted soon as I want to get rid of my junior who are teasing me recently.”
  • “I regret it too because there would be students who would have given their pre-boards sincerely and scored low, but I am happy with that too as they would get the chance to score more if they are not satisfied with the recent scores.”
  • Here's what parents have to say:
“We being parents are feeling really relaxed, now that our kids don't have to go to school to give offline exam's but at the same time parents like us who are willing to change schools in 11th standard are tensed for their admission as the criteria for marking still isn't specified,” said a parent of Class 12 student who was equally worried about the conduction of CBSE board exam amid the ongoing pandemic.
  • CBSE students under pressure:
“My college abroad starts teaching in September, and I am having second thoughts about applying now. There's a lot of uncertainty and stress in my mind now, Ahmed Sarim, a class 12 student told India Today.
  • Furthermore, Chaitanya, a Class 12 student said, “The decision to postpone boards is with regard to public safety. Class 12 Boards are one of the most important exams of one's life, and conducting them in the near future should be of utmost importance to the Board while assessing the Covid-19 situation.”
