Central Board of Secondary Education is goining to mandate competency-based assessments in all affiliated schools.

CBSE also introducing a dual level system for science and social science subjects, that allows students in class IX and X to choose their preferred level based on their comprehension abilities.

Binod Kumar, education department principal secretary, said: "We have also made reforms in assessment. The focus is not only on the child answering the question but also on the child being able to frame a question. Fortunately, technology has made it easy to access study material on the internet at a cheaper cost."
