ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Eligibility criteria are as per norms of University of Calcutta. This can be viewed at www.caluniv.ac.in. {Please follow the caption CBCS UG and click on Notification No. CSR/3/18 dated 07.05.18 for B.A./B.Sc. Hons/Gen courses and Notification No. CSR/4/18 dated 07.05.18 for B.A. Major Course. For B.Com (Hons/Gen) click on Notification No. CSR/64/17 dated 14.09.2017 and Notification No. CSR/10/18 dated 30.05.2018.}
• A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the 3-year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com (Honours and General) and B.A.(Major) Course of Studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
• Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational examination conducted by the “West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training” shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (General) 1st year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only.
• Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational Examination in Business & Commerce conducted by the “West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training” shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.Com. (General) 1st year Course of Studies under this University.
• A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained :
  • A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR
  • 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR
  • 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. [(iii) does not apply for B. Com. Hons. Course]

  However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be

• A candidate shall be allowed to take up the subject(s) under heading “A” if he/she had passed the subject (s) under heading “B” at the previous qualifying examination:

OTHER CONDITIONS

• Applicants should have passed at least in FOUR subjects of 100 marks each and passed the H. S./ Equivalent examination as a whole.
• Applicants must have passed in English (at least 100 marks).
• Applicants of Honours subjects having same merit index will be ranked as per their marks in subject / related subject. If deadlock still persists, candidate who applied first will be entertained.
• Candidates must have passed from a Board / Council recognized by the University of Calcutta.

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CANDIDATES

• Physically Challenged Candidates having disability of 40% and above are entitled to get reservation facility. Physically Handicapped candidates must attach a certificate from the competent authority while filling application forms for admission.
• Physically Handicapped candidates have the reservation of 3% of the total number of seats.
• NOTE THAT 30% SEATS ARE RESERVED FOR CHRISTIAN STUDENTS
