Eligibility Criteria 2022
- Applicant must Pass in H.S. or equivalent examination
- Choice Of Subject Combination: Choice of Subject Combination is subject to availability of seats. The applicant may choose General Subject(s) from the available combinations. However, if the subject combination chosen by the student is not available due to limitation of seats (as per University of Calcutta intake capacity approval), then the concerned applicant will have to select a subject combination from the available ones offered by the college authority.
- An applicant cannot select a subject in the degree level in which he/she has failed in H.S. or equivalent examination as per C.U. norms.
- Applicants applying for Mathematics General (MTMG) should pass in Mathematics or Business Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent Examination.
- Applicants applying for Computer Science General (CMSG) should pass in Mathematics & any one of (Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science) in H.S. or equivalent examination.
- Students appeared in B.A./ B.Sc./B.Com.(Hons. /Gen.) Part – I Examination in 2018 or earlier are not eligible for admission under Semester wise CBCS of C.U. Vide CSR/3/18 of C.U. Dated 07.05.2018.
- Candidates who passed H.S. (10+2) Vocational Examination from West Bengal Board of Vocational Education are eligible for admission to B.A. General Course taking subject under Humanities Division only.
- Candidates who passed Fazil (12 standard) from West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education are eligible for admission to B.A. General Course. They are also eligible for admission in B.A. (Hons.) Course if they studied relevant subject(s) in the qualifying examination.
- All India Boards / Councils (i.e., CBCS, ISC & National Institute of Open Schooling) need not require to submit Migration Certificate.
- A candidate shall be allowed to take up B.Com.(General) Course if he/she had passed the subject(s) at the qualifying examination as mentioned below:
(Accountancy/Business Economics including Business Mathematics /Business Organization/Mathematics/Economics/ Statistics/Commerce / Accounts/Business Studies/Financial Accounting / Office & Secretarial Practice/ Elements of Cost Accountancy & Auditing/Book Keeping/ Business Mathematics/ Cost Accounting and Principal of Management, Commercial Law and Preliminaries of Auditing, Costing and Taxation.)
- Minimum Marks to be obtained in previous qualifying Examination for Honours Course:
50% Marks in aggregate (#) and 45% Marks in the subject/related subject at the previous qualifying examination
OR
55% Marks in the subject /related subject at the previous qualifying examination
OR
50% Marks in aggregate (#) (when the subject / related subject not studied) at the previous qualifying examination
OR
40% Marks in aggregate (#) or 40% Marks in the subject/related subject (for Reserved Categories) (# Aggregate = Total Marks obtained in TOP FOUR subjects)
