Last date : Submission of Online Application for Ph.D Admission 2018-19 on 02/07/2018.

Online applications are invited for admission to Master Degree programmes. The admission will be done through an Entrance Examination to be held on 08/07/2018 and 15/07/2018 for Master Degree programmes at the University campus at Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal. The Syllabus for both the programmes has been displayed on the University website (www.bckv.edu.in) separately.

All the P.G. seats, excepting ICAR seats will be filled up by the domicile students, State of West Bengal. However, the non-domicile students according to merit list will be considered for admission in the unfilled seats at different departments, if any. Nondomicile students are not eligible for University Research Scholarship (URS). The SC/ST/OBC candidates who are domicile of West Bengal will get the benefit of reservation; ICAR’s nominees will be considered as per prevailing rules.

For Entrance Examination of Master Degree Programme of the Faculty of Agriculture, a candidate at best may apply to Group-I, Group-III and any one module of Group- II; Separate examinations will be conducted for all the groups mentioned below.

Only one common entrance examination will be conducted for the Faculty of Horticulture and also for Faculty of Agricultural Engineering for all of its departments. Entrance examination will be based on multiple choice questions.
There will be deduction of 1 (one) mark for four wrong answers. All questions are of equal mark.

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed the 4-year Bachelor Degree examination in Agriculture / Horticulture / Agricultural Engineering securing Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General and OBC categories, whereas for SC/ST/PH candidates the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/5.00, or 2.20/4.00. In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60 % marks for General and OBC categories, whereas for SC/ST/PH categories the requirement is 50% marks.

The graduates of some other disciplines of Engineering are also eligible to apply in the respective departments, i.e. 1) Civil Engineering for the Dept. of Soil & Water Engineering, 2) Mechanical Engineering for the Dept. of Farm Machinery & Power, 3) Chemical/ Biochemical Engineering for the Dept. of Food Engineering.

The Agricultural Engineering Graduates who were admitted in Graduation Course through lateral entry with Diploma in Engineering may use the OGPA in their Diploma Engineering course in place of the marks of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English as required during fill up of the on line application form to mention the Higher Secondary marks of these subjects.

Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (10+2) in General stream or Vocational stream securing at least 50 % marks in aggregate for General and OBC categories, whereas for SC/ST/PH categories the said requirement is 40% marks.

However, for M.Tech. Admission, minimum marks accepted by WBJEE Board for admission to B. Tech. will be considered.

Candidates appeared in the final semester of under-graduate programme are also eligible to apply.

All the candidates are required to submit the photocopy of all the transcripts at the time of counseling for admission.

Mode of Application (Online) and Payment of Fees (Online & Offline)

Apply online through the Viswavidyalaya website (www.bckv.edu.in) and application fee is to be paid as per the following rates. Application fees once paid will not be refunded.
For Doctoral Degree admission (General/OBC category) Rs.1500/-
For Doctoral Degree admission (SC, ST & PH category) Rs.750/-

In-Service candidate: In-Service candidates should have atleast 3 (three) years service experience in a Govt. recognised organization. In-Service candidates need not to appear in Entrance Examination. However, they have to appear in an Interview Board as constituted by the University for preparing the merit list of such candidates. The candidates in service for less than 3(three) years shall not be considered as in-service and they have to appear in entrance examination along with the other applicant.

The In-service candidates (For both Masters and Doctoral degree programme) must submit a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from his / her present employer during the time of interview. After admission, the concerned M.Sc. / M.Tech. / Ph.D. students must have to submit an approved letter of leave for a period of 2 years and 3 (2+1) years respectively issued by his/her employer within three (3) months with effect from the date of admission, failing which his/her admission will be treated as cancelled without any further notification.

Results submitted/received after the due date shall not be considered for preparation of merit list.
