    + Eligibility for Admission

    • Agriculture and Horticulture (M.Sc.):
      • Candidates must have passed the 4-year Bachelor Degree examination in Agriculture/Horticulture. General and OBC candidates must secure Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.50/10.00 in ten-point scale whereas for SC/ST candidates, the said requirement is at least 5.50/10.00 in ten-point scale. In traditional system where grade-points are not awarded, the General and OBC category candidates must have secured at least 60% marks whereas for SC/ST categories, the requirement is at least 50% marks.
      • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (10+2) in General stream or Vocational stream securing at least 50% marks in aggregate for General and OBC categories, whereas for the candidate under SC/ST categories the said requirement is at least 40%.
      • No candidate who might have obtained his or her Bachelor Degree from any University where the concerned Faculty/College/Programme is not accredited by ICAR or State Government aided shall be eligible for admission to Master Degree programme.
      • Applicants having bachelor degree from other University or college will have to produce a certificate from appropriate authority mentioning that his/her Faculty/college is either ICARaccredited or State Government aided before taking admission/ reporting failing which the candidature will be liable to be cancelled.
      • All the candidates are required to submit the photocopy of all the transcripts at the time of Counseling/reporting for admission.
    • Agricultural Engineering (M.Tech.):
      • Candidates must have passed the 4-year Bachelor Degree examination in Agricultural Engineering. General and OBC candidates must secure Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.50/10.00 in ten-point scale, whereas for SC/ST candidates the said requirement is at least 5.50/10.00 in ten-point scale. In traditional system where grade-points are not awarded, the General and OBC category candidates must have secured at least 60% marks, whereas for SC/ST categories the requirement is at least 50% marks.
      • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (10+2) with subjects and minimum marks of 45% for general and OBC candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
      • The graduates of some other disciplines of Engineering are also eligible to apply in the respective departments, i.e. 1) Mechanical Engineering for the Dept. of Farm Machinery & Power, 2) Chemical/ Biochemical Engineering for the Dept. of Food Engineering.
      • No candidate who might have obtained his or her Bachelor Degree from any University where the concerned Faculty/College/Programme is not approved by AICTE or State Government aided shall be eligible for admission to Master Degree programme.
      • Applicants having bachelor degree from other University or college will have to produce a certificate from appropriate authority mentioning that his/her Faculty/college/Programme is either AICTE approved or State Government aided before taking admission/reporting failing which the candidature will be liable to be cancelled.
      • All the candidates are required to submit the photocopy of all the transcripts at the time of Counseling/reporting for admission.

    + Mode of Application (Online) and Payment of Fees (Online only):

    online through the Viswavidyalaya website (www.bckv.edu.in) and application fee is to be paid as per the following rates.
    Application fees once paid will not be refunded.

    In one application, a candidate applying for Master's Degree Programme can give choice of maximum five subjects of Agriculture and Horticulture and 3 subjects of Agricultural Engineering. The candidates have to apply separately paying prescribed application fees if he/she wants to give choice for more than five (5) subjects of Agriculture and Horticulture.

    + Allotment of Seats


    All the Master’s Degree seats, excepting the ICAR seats will be filled up in the following manner:
    • Eighty percent (80%) of the seat in each department of the general category which may be rounded off to nearer absolute number will be reserved for domicile candidates of West Bengal that will be filled up on the basis of merit list.
    • Twenty percent (20%) seats of the general category in each department which may be rounded off to nearer absolute number will be filled up on the basis of merit list considering both domicile and non-domicile candidates. No benefit of reservation will be extended to the nondomicile candidates.
    • In case the seat has fallen vacant due to non-availability of domicile candidates, it will be filled up by the non-domicile candidates on the basis of merit list.
    • ICAR’s nominees will be considered as per prevailing rules.
