ADMISSION NOTIFICATION
Session: 2019-2021
  • Admission to B.Ed. Programme in Self-financed B.Ed. Colleges under B.U., will be done phase wise through online mode o nly and under any circumstances, no student will be admitted directly by the Self-financed B.Ed. College Authorities, without reco mmendation of the university and the Univer sity Authority shall not be responsible for Registration and Enrolment of any student, if admitted directly by the College Au thority, except on Management Quota Seats.
  • Mode of payment of application fees (Rs. 300/- + transaction charge) will be through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and Allahabad Bank e-challan. Allahaba d Bank E-challan can be generated after submission of on-line form. Candidates are advised to take the print out of the e-challan on the basis of which payment can be made at any branch of Allahaba d Bank.
    Last date of payment of app lication fee through e-challan is 07.06.2019.
  • On the basis of on-line submission of application, the University shall prepare a provisional merit list without verification of the accuracy and authenticity of the data submitted by the applicants. Applicants shall remain responsible for the inaccuracy / insufficiency and la ck of authenticity of the data entered and the can didature may be cancelled at any stage of admis sion and even during the continuation of the programme. The rank of the provisional merit list ma y be changed due to inaccuracy / insufficiency and lack of authenticity of the data entered. Admission will be offered after verification of the accuracy / sufficiency and authenticity of the data entered.
    Candidates, engaged in any other Course of Studies/Job/Full-time Research Work, shall not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously.
    Fresh candidates must verify eligibility as in (6), age limit as in (8), availability of method subject(s) as in (12) before on-line submission of the application form.
    Deputed candidates must ve rify eligibility as in (6) & availability of method subject(s) as in (12) before on-line submission of the application form.
  • Applicant should upload scan ned photograph and signature file. The files mu st be of type png or jpeg and the size of photograph and signature must be within 3 MB.
  • For Deputed candidates only : As per Govt. order no. 646 - Edn(CS)/ 10M-20/2015, dated 10.04.2019, in self-financing B.Ed. colleges, 20% seats are to be reserved for untrained in service/ deputed teachers of classes V -XII. If the seats, reserved for deputed teachers, remain vacant, they may be de-reserved and offered to the fresh candidates but not to the Manage ment Quota. . In such a situation, Method Subject w ise Intake of fresh candidates may be increased in any college at any stage.
  • Eligibility : Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Ma ster's Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanity/Commerce, or Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with at least 55% marks, or any other qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible f or application. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC, ST and DA (Differently Abled) categories.
    N.B. : 50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelor's degree with Hons. may be determined either on the basis of Hons. marks only or on the basis of Hons. marks and marks of the elective subjects taken together (excluding ENVS & Languages)
  • As per instructions of UGC, the eligible SC/ST, OBC, DA Students etc. should submit their scholarship form for the academic year by February, for processing scholarship to SC/ST, OBC, DA etc. each year.
  • Age Limit : Age of the Fresh Candidates as on 30th June, 2019 shall not exceed 38 years and there shall be relaxation of 5 years in favour of DA category candidates.
  • Reservation of seats for SC & ST candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) is not applicable to Self-financed B.Ed. Colleges.
    As per Govt. order no.1084(20)-Edn(U)/EH/1U-89/13, dated, 07.12.2018, the percentage of reservation for the persons with disabilities shall be extended not less than 5% in each College.
  • As per Govt. order no. 6 4 6 - Edn(CS)/10M-20/2015, dated 10.04.2019, ratio for home University students and other University students shall be 80:20.
  • Whether a fresh applicant shall fill up online application form of either Burdwan University category or Other University category that will be determined on the basis of the Mark Sheet of the last Examination passed or the last Certificate ( in case of M.Phil. or Ph.D. holders).
  • Availability of Method Subjects :
    • Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Hindi, Geography, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Education, Economics, Commerce, Music, Fine Arts., Life Science (Zoology, Botany, Physiology, Bio-technology, Nutrition, Micro-biology, Env.Sc.), Physical Science (Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry), Mathematics (Statistics / Computer Application / Computer Science / Engineering or Technology).
    • Bio-chemistry & Electronics shall be treated as subjects in the Physical Science Group and in this case candidates shall have to take Physical Science as the method.
    • Bio-technology, Nutrition, Microbiology & Env.Sc. shall be treated as subjects in the Life Science Group and in this case candidates shall have to take Life Science as the method.
    • Statistics/Computer Application/Computer Science/ Engineering or Technology shall be treated as subjects in Mathematics Group and in this case candidates shall have to take Mathematics as the method.
    • Students of Sociology shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall have to take method subject from their elective subjects.
    • Fresh applicants, having Hons./PG. in Santali/Arabic/Urdu shall be eligible to apply and shall get admission to the programme. However they will have to take the method subject from their Elective Subjects.
    • Deputed candidates, having Hons./ P.G. in Santali/ Urdu/ Arabic /Agriculture/ Agronomy/ Home Science/ Home Management & Home Science shall be eligible for admission to B.Ed. programme. However they will have to take the method subject from their Elective subjects.
  • SC/ST candidates of domicile state are entitled to get the marks relaxation facility i.e. SC/ ST candidates hailing from states other than West Bengal are not eligible for such benefits and they will be treated as General category candidates.
    Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking marks relaxation against SC/ST category, must have to produce original caste certificate at the time of verification. The Certificate must be obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO.1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011.
    The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below :
    • Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.
    • Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe and ordinarily residing within such jurisdictions.
  • For DA (Differently Abled) Candidates only : Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation and age and / marks relaxation against DA category, must appear personally with all relevant medical reports as well as the certificate in original before the Medical Board, constituted for this purpose along with a self attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim and the certificate must be obtained from the authority not below the rank of a Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital. In the certificate, the extent of Physical disability must not be less than 40%. The meeting of the said board will be held as per the following schedule for determining the eligibility for admission under DA category :

  • Selection Procedure :
    • For Deputed Candidates , Provisional Rank list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service as on 30.06.2019. In case of same length of service of two or more candidates, the 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be Total Grade Point and Date of Birth respectively.
    • Separate list for deputed applicants shall be prepared as per the following groups :
      • Language & Social Science Group : (Beng., Eng., Sans., Hin., Geo., Hist., Pol. Sc.,Phil., Edn., Eco., Music, Commerce, Fine Arts)
      • Life Science Group : (Zoo., Bot., Physio., Bio-tech., Nutri, Micro-bio., Env.Sc.)
      • Physical Science Group : (Phy., Elect., Chem., Bio-chem.)
      • Mathematics Group : (Math., Stat., Comp. Application, Comp. Sc., Engineering or Technology).
    • For Fresh Candidates, Method Subject wise Provisional Rank shall be prepared on the basis of their Grade Point to be computed as per the following norms :
      • 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P.(S.E.) or Equivalent Examination.
      • 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the H.S.(10+2) or Equivalent Examination.
      • a) 15% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Gen.) Examination
        or
        b) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Hons. or equivalent Examination [% of marks obtained in this case shall be computed considering the marks of Hons. subject only.]
      • 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examination.
      • a) 5 marks shall be awarded for M. Phil. Degree.
        b) 8 marks shall be awarded for Ph. D. degree.
        c) Candidates with M. Phil. & Ph. D. degrees both, only 8 marks be awarded.
  • At the time of online submission of application form each applicant will get maximum 15 (fifteen) colleges as their choice in the application form, subject to availability of method subject and seat. In this case, candidates are advised to prepare a list of 15 colleges as per their preference subject to availability of method subject and seat before going to fill up online application form otherwise they may face the problem of time out during the process.
  • Notification for publication of Provisional Rank List will be available only on the University Website on 18.06.2019.
    Date, Venue and Time of verification of the original testimonials of the enlisted candidates will be notified at the time of publication of Provisional Rank List.
  • At the time of verification, enlisted candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) shall bring with them all original testimonials and must have to submit self attested photo copies of Admit Card [ M.P. (S.E.) or equivalent], Mark Sheets ( both sides) of all the public examinations passed, Certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any, at the time of commencement of classes to the respective college. In addition, deputed candidates must have to produce "No Objection Certificate'' in original duly signed by DI of Schools/Competent authority(with seal) and Secretary/ Administrator/HM (with seal) taken from their employer permitting them to pursue the B. Ed. Programme (from July 2019 to June 2021) on fulltime basis, the Copy(ies) of approval for the post(s) held at present and earlier along with the resolution of the Managing Committee of the School concerned (present employer), at the time of verification and the copies of the same must have to submit at the time of commencement of classes to the respective college. Teachers, teaching for class V to XII in the Govt. Aided Institutions only, shall be considered as Deputed Candidates.
  • As per Govt. order no. 6 4 6 - Edn(CS)/10M-20/2015, dated 10.04.2019, payment of admission fees should be done only through designated bank (Allahabad Bank).
  • Course Fees : Total fee for pursuing this Programme in the Self-financed Colleges is Rs. 50,000/-(including Uni. Exam. Fee Rs. 1000 for 1st & 2nd semesters) per annum both for Deputed & Fresh Candidates of which Rs. 20000/- will be paid at the time of admission and the rest (i.e.Rs. 30000/-) will be paid in six (6) equal monthly installments starting from the month of September every year.
    Note that total course fee for 2-years is Rs. 1,00,000/- per student. In addition to the above fees, students will pay only Enrollment fee, Centre fee etc. separately.
  • The authority of each Self-financed College will spend Rs. 75,000/- only per unit (i.e. for 50 students) in every academic year for the benefit of the students in the form of relaxation of tuition fees. This benefit will be given to the poor and meritorious fresh candidates but not to the Candidates to be admitted on Management Quota.
  • Applicants must take the print out of their Application Form.
  • The minimum attendance of student- teachers shall be 80% for all course work & practicum and 90% for school internship as per NCTE Regulations-2014.
  • The University also reserves the right to drop or include any name if any suppression of facts on the part of the applicants or any mistake in the calculation of grade point is detected at any stage before and after admission.
  • Rules of The University of Burdwan, The Govt. of West Bengal & The NCTE shall be followed.
