    Admission be made strictly according to the marks obtained in the board examination. There will be no Admission Test.

    Incomplete application in any respect will be summarily rejected.

    Merit lists of the candidates for Honours in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geological Sciences and Geography will be prepared as follows:

    For Physics Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (300 marks) + Physics (100 marks) of H.S./Equivalent Examination: (Score out of 400) Mathematics of H.S. Examination (2 x 100 marks) + Physical Science of class 10th Board Examination (2 x 100 marks): (Score out of 400)
    For Chemistry Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (300 marks) + Chemistry (100 marks) of H.S./Equivalent Examination: (Score out of 400) Physical Science of class 10th Board Examination (100 marks) + Life Science of class 10th Board Examination (100 marks) + Mathematics of H.S. Examination (100 marks) + Aggregate percentage of marks of H.S./Equivalent Examination: (Score out of 400)
    For Mathematics Mathematics and best of any two subjects from Chemistry / Physics / Computer Science / Statistics (300 marks) + Mathematics (100 marks) of H.S./Equivalent Examination: (Score out of 400) Mathematics of H.S. Examination (2 x 100 marks) + Mathematics of class 10th Board Examination (100 marks) + Physical Science of class 10th Board Examination (100 marks): (Score out of 400)
    For Geological Sciences Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (300 marks) of H.S./Equivalent Examination: (Score out of 300) 100% of Mathematics + 50% of Physics + 50% Chemistry of H.S Examination (200 marks) + 70% of Physical Sciences + 30% of Mathematics of class 10th Board Exam(100 marks): (Score out of 300)
    For Geography Mathematics and any two subjects from Chemistry / Physics / Geography / Geology / Economics / Computer Science / Statistics (300 marks) of H.S./Equivalent Examination + Mathematics of class 10th Board Exam (100 marks): (Score out of 400) Mathematics of H.S. Examination (2 x 100 marks) + Mathematics of class 10th Board Exam (100 marks) + Geography of class 10th Board Exam (100 marks): (Score out of 400)

    Aggregate Marks Calculation

    West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination Aggregate marks of best 4 subjects excluding Environmental Studies / Environmental Education / Environmental Science (out of 400).
    All Other Boards Aggregate marks of best 4 subjects, out of 400 marks.

    In case of bunching of marks in the merit lists for admission of the last candidate the selection be made as per the following criteria:

    For Physics In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Physics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching of marks of Physics at +2 level, the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered. In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Physical Science at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at 10th level be considered.
    For Chemistry In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Chemistry at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching of marks of Chemistry at +2 level, the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered. In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching marks of Physical Science at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the aggregate marks of class 10th level be considered.
    For Mathematics In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching of marks of Mathematics at +2 level, the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered. In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, Mathematics at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Physical Science at 10th level be considered.
    For Geological Sciences In case bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching of marks of Mathematics at +2 level, the marks of Physics at + 2 level be considered. Again if there is a bunching of marks of Physics at + 2 level the marks of Chemistry at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered. In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Physical Sciences at 10th level be considered. Again, if there is a bunching, the marks of Mathematics at Secondary level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the total marks obtained best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered.
    For Geography In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Geography/Social Science at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Again, if there is a bunching, the marks of Science at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at 10th level be considered. In case of bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Geography at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Again, if there is a bunching, the marks of Physical Science at 10th level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the marks of Mathematics at 10th level be considered.

    For the other semester options for Generic Elective will sought for before semester starts. Mathematics is compulsory in 2nd semester & 3rd Semester for all Department.

    + Instruction Summary

    • Step 1:
      Fill up the online application(Read the How to Apply help guide very carefully). Upload the image files of 10th Board Marksheet, 10+2 Board Marksheet and SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD Certificate (where applicable) in .jpg, .jpeg or .png format. Maximum size 100kb.
    • Step 2:
      Select the course(s) you want to apply for. You can apply for more than one subject.
      But you have to submit separate application for each category.
    Candidates do not have to pay any application fees as per the order of Govt of West Bengal.

    If any Board does not provide any marks (only grade) to the candidates in class 10th board examination, then the candidates of that particular Board have to convert their grades into marks as per the rules of that concerned Board and should enter that marks into the online application form.

    NOTE: If any candidate wants to fill the form second time, he/she has to enter his/her H.S. or equivalent Roll number followed by dup (Ex. If your H.S. or equivalent Roll number is 5008456 then you have to enter 5008456dup).
