3-Year B.A. Honours/Major degree* in the subject or in Comparative Literature from a recognised University with at least 60% marks (54% for OBC-A/OBC-B category and 45% for SC/ST/PD/Sports category) in Honours papers. (In case Honours/Major is NOT specified/ mentioned in the mark-sheet for the BA Degree of an applicant, then he/she will NOT be eligible.) |
Comparative Literature |
Category-I A minimum three-year Bachelors degree* with Honours/Major in Comparative Literature with at least 40% marks, or, a three-year Bachelors degree* with Honours/Major in any literature subject with at least 55% marks (49.5% for OBC-A/OBC-B category and 41.25% for SC/ST/PD/Sports category) in Honours/Major papers. (In case Honours/Major is NOT specified/ mentioned in the mark-sheet for the BA Degree of an applicant, then he/she will NOT be eligible.) Selection Procedure for Master of Arts (Day) Courses | |
For Comparative Literature |
For Category I (those with Honours in any literature subject including Comparative Literature):- Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the Admission Test. There will be a single paper for Category-I candidates.
For Category-II (those with Honours in non-literature subjects in Arts/Science/Commerce or with a degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical or any other recognized Bachelor degree): Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the Admission Test. Category-II students will have to appear for two papers in general literature in the Admission Test. |
For Bengali, Linguistics, Economics, Political Science with International Relations, English | Selection will be made solely on the basis of Admission Test in the subject concerned. |
For History | Selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Honours/Major papers. |
For Film Studies | Selection will be made solely on the basis of Admission Test. |
For Philosophy and Sociology | Selection will be made on the basis of equal weightage on the marks secured in the Honours papers and an Admission Test in the subject. |
For Sanskrit | Selection will be made on the basis of 1) 30% weightage of marks obtained in Honours papers 2) 70% weightage of the performance in a written admission test. |
