Academic Session: 2022-2023

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to B.Ed. Programme for the session 2022-2023 in the Department of Education, University of Kalyani.

Seat Intake: 50 (Fifty)

  • Candidates should be Graduate in a school subject from a recognized University.
  • Candidates with at least 50 % marks either in bachelorís Degree or in the Masterís Degree inSchool subjects.
  • Bachelors in Engineering or Technology / B.C.A. / M.C.A. with Science and / or Mathematics as subject with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
  • Fresher should have at least 50 % (fifty) marks either in bachelorís Degree or in the Masterís Degree in school subject. For Masterís Degree Programmeof two years duration will be considered for scoring.
  • For candidates, in case of Honours Graduates in school subject, the marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.
  • In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects will be considered.
  • For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each pedagogy subject based on scoring.
  • Age limit for Fresher is 37 years as on 01.07.2022.There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.
  • Relaxation of marks andReservation of seats for SC/ST /PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates will be as per State Govt. Rules.

  • Medium of instruction: Bengali / English.
  • The B.Ed. programme shall be duration of two academic sessions and having 4 semesters.
  • 90 % of seat intake will be reserved for Fresh Candidates and 10 % for untrained in service / Deputed school teachers of classes V to XII.
  • The intake ratio for home University and other Universities shall be 80:20.
  • Out of total seats in the fresh category, 80% are meant for the student of the Kalyani University and 20% for the students other than Kalyani University students. Students of Kalyani University mean those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.

Admission procedure for B.Ed. Programme (for fresh candidates):
Admission will be on the basis of score against marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and as per norms of the University. Score against marks for different level of examination will be as follows:
I Madhyamik / Equivalent Examination 10
II Higher Secondary Examination 20
III B.A. / B. Sc. / B.Com. (Gen / Pass) 20
IV B.A. / B. Sc. / B.Com. (Hons.) 30
V M.A. / M. Sc. / M. Com. 20

Distribution of scores against marks for different examination will be as follows:

  • For scoring in H.S., the marks obtained in the best five subjects will be considered.
  • Deputed Teachers (as per NCTE norms) from recognized Secondary & Higher Secondary School of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
  • For Deputed Candidates:
    Deputed applicants must submit an attested copy of M.C. resolution of the approval of her / his service withthe online application form and must submit NOC at the time of admission.
Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day of joining the Institution.
  • Release order from the Headmaster / Headmistress.
  • Attested copy of MC resolution with regards to her / his deputation.
  • Three copies of passport size photographs of the applicant.
  • Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission).
  • A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or Headmaster / Headmistress ( Where she / he is serving) and counter signed by the D.I. of School of the District concerned.
    • Certified that the school is in receipt of aid on full / deficit / lumpsum grant basis or that school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.
    • Certified that she / he is duly approved teacher.
    • Certified that she / he is first / school candidate being deputed by the school for training in 2020-2022.

Application fee is Rs. 400/- for General candidates & OBC Category and Rs. 200/- for SC / ST candidates, for differently able (PWD) candidates Rs. 160/-.
