SCHEDULE FOR WRITTEN TEST, GD & PL, PUBLICATION OF MERIT LIST AND DATE OF ADMISSION

Eligibility

• Recognized Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration obtained in any discipline are eligible (except Graduates in Fine Arts or Performing Arts) provided that they have secured 50% (General category and 45% (SC/ST/BC category) marks in aggregate.
  
  Students in the final year of Bachelors degree and also who have appeared in their final term end examination of their graduation are permitted to apply and participate in the selection process but those candidates whose results are awaited on the date of admission will be provisionally admitted to the MBA programme.
  
  However, their provisional studentship will be cancelled if he/she does not clear his/her Graduation with the requisite percentage in the year of his/her admissions to the MBA programme and the University Authority will not be liable to refund his/her fees or any other charges whatsoever, under any circumstances.
• Candidates will have to qualify in either of the following MBA entrance examinations i.e. CAT / MAT / CMAT / ATMA / JMET / XAT / WB-JEMAT within the last one year, i.e. May 2018 to May 2019.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Department of Management, University of North Bengal, seeks meritorious men and women with effective personalities who possess a spirit of inquiry, excitement and daring. The selection process for the Program has been designed to identify such individuals. Academic merit and work-experience are given due credit. In the interests of fair assessment of potential, the University of North Bengal permits all prima-facie eligible students to participate in the complete Selection Process without intermediate elimination through short listing. The industry representatives usually participate actively in the selection process and assess students' potential for corporate excellence in accordance to the principles of the Department of Management, University of North Bengal.

• Candidates with valid CAT/MAT /CMAT /ATMA/JMET /XAT/ WB-JEMAT scores (appeared within the last one year , i.e. May 2018 to May 2019) till the last dates of submission for admission of application will be directly called for GD, PI, Essay Writing, Extempore.
• The NBUMAT (North Bengal University Management Admission Test) shall be conducted through the Controller of Examinations NBU. The test will be of 100 marks having MCQs only. There shall be no negative marking and the qualifying marks for this entrance examination shall be 40 marks. The duration of the examination shall be 2 hours.
• Candidates with valid CAT / MAT / CMAT / ATMA / JMET / XAT / WB-JEMAT scores can opt for appearing in NBUMAT if they wish to enhance their entrance examination scores. The enhanced scores only will be considered for preparing the merit list.
• The total score for preparing the merit list of the candidates will be 200 marks which will have the following components:

  Essay writing	25 (Marks)
  Group Discussion	25 (Marks)
  Personal Interview	25 (Marks)
  Extempore	25 (Marks)
  Total	200 (Marks)

• The percentile obtained by a candidate in CAT / MAT / CMAT / ATMA / JMET / XAT / WB-JEMAT shall be converted into marks.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION AND ADMISSION

Admission Brochure of MBA Programme will be available during 1st June 2019 to 8th July 2019 at www.nbu.ac.in. Online Application form can be submitted to www.nbu.ac.in with a payment of Rs. 500 by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking.

Instruction for candidates to be selected through NBUMAT or any other valid entrance test viz. CMAT / MAT / CAT / ATMA / JMET / XAT

• Candidates are required to submit the duly filled-in Online Application Form within the mentioned date.
• A photocopy of valid score card with adequate percentage of marks has to be submitted with the application form.
• The candidates are required to appear for the Group Discussion and Essay writing on the scheduled date and venue.
• The candidates are required to appear for the Personal Interview and Extempore session on the scheduled date and venue.
• The short listed candidates will be required to take admission within the mentioned date along with the required documents.
